Quadriceps isolation with a controlled path

The leg extension is the most direct way to load the quadriceps through knee extension alone, without the hip and trunk contribution of a squat or a leg press. On the LS-521 the reclined seat takes pressure off the back of the thigh and holds the pelvis in a biomechanically correct position, so the load stays on the working muscle rather than on the lumbar spine.

Can one leg be trained at a time?

Yes. The left and right levers are driven independently, so the machine supports bilateral, alternating and single-leg work without any modification. This is the main reason it is specified in rehabilitation settings alongside commercial gyms.

How is the machine adjusted for a shorter or taller user?

Two adjustments are provided: the back angle, which sets the trunk position and therefore the starting knee angle, and the push-button pivot, which aligns the axis of the machine with the knee joint. Both are tool-free and take a few seconds.

What floor area should be allowed?
