Description
The Etenon R8503 combines a seated leg extension and a seated leg curl in one selectorised machine. For a club equipping a complete leg area on limited floor space, that is the decisive argument: one frame covers quadriceps and hamstrings, saving 30 to 40 percent of the area two separate machines would take.
The training rationale is quadriceps to hamstring balance. An imbalance between the two groups is one of the recognised risk factors in ligament and meniscus injury, and a machine that carries both exercises makes it straightforward to programme them as a super set on the same station rather than moving the member across the floor.
Both modes use a counterbalanced arm, which removes the initial resistance at the start of the movement. That protects the knee tendons at the point where load would otherwise arrive abruptly, and it is the feature that makes the machine usable for members in rehabilitation or with a history of joint problems. A single shared load selector serves both modes, so the transition between exercises takes seconds.

Equipping a leg area on limited floor space
Most clubs cannot justify a full leg line. A dual machine changes the arithmetic: instead of a leg extension and a seated leg curl occupying two bays, one station delivers both patterns and releases the difference for free weights or functional space. In a mid market club or a hotel gym that difference is often what makes a leg area possible at all.
Three adjustments make the machine work across a member base: roller position, backrest and range of movement. Setting range of movement matters particularly in rehabilitation contexts, where a limited arc is prescribed and the machine has to enforce it rather than rely on the user. Rubber gym flooring tiles are recommended under the frame, and we supply the machine footprint with the implantation study.
Frequently asked questions
Is the load the same for both exercises?
The stack is shared at 100 kg. Depending on configuration the load is identical in both modes or adjustable between them.
What does the counterbalanced arm change?
It eliminates the initial resistance at the start of each movement, which protects the knee tendons and suits rehabilitation use.
How much space does it save against two machines?
Between 30 and 40 percent of the floor area required by a separate leg extension and seated leg curl.
