Description
The SRX51 belt squat from the Solid Rock range loads the lower body through a hip belt rather than through the spine. Plate-loaded to 300 kg on a 3 mm carbon steel chassis. Professional price: 2,000 EUR excluding VAT.
Heavy leg training without axial spinal load
A barbell back squat loads the legs by compressing the spine. For a member with a lumbar history, a powerlifter in a high-volume block, or an athlete returning from a back injury, the spine becomes the limiting factor long before the legs do. The SRX51 attaches the load directly to the pelvis with a belt, removing axial compression entirely. The quadriceps and glutes can be trained to failure while the back stays out of the equation.
Foot position and muscle emphasis
The oversized non-slip platform allows the stance to be varied: sumo, standard or narrow. Widening the stance shifts emphasis towards the adductors and glutes; narrowing it concentrates the load on the quadriceps. One station therefore covers several distinct loading patterns, which is unusual for a machine in this price class and is part of why it justifies its floor area.
Construction

Who it attracts
The belt squat has a wider audience than most specialist strength machines: powerlifters use it for accessory volume, rehabilitation clients use it as the first heavy leg exercise after a back injury, and general members with lumbar sensitivity use it as their main squat pattern. Premium clubs, performance centres and return-to-sport facilities all specify it for that breadth. It pairs naturally with a hack squat for quadriceps work and a hip thruster for glute work.

Frequently asked questions
Is a belt included?
No. The machine has a robust attachment system compatible with most professional squat belts. Ask us for accessory recommendations and we will include a suitable belt in the quotation.
Is it as effective as a barbell squat?
For quadriceps and glute development it is highly effective, and often preferable in a volume block, because the back is no longer the limiting factor and the athlete can focus entirely on the leg drive. It does not train the trunk stabilisation demand of a loaded barbell, which remains the argument for keeping both.
Is loading and unloading quick?
Yes. The plate holders are positioned for fast access, and the technopolymer-protected tubes prevent the frame finish being damaged during loading, which is the usual source of wear on plate-loaded machines.
