Description
The TRAINER Steel4Fit leg lifter is a compact outdoor knee extension station of 83 x 69 x 120 cm weighing 45 kg, certified to EN 16630:2015. Each leg is worked individually against a resistance that scales with the user own body weight, which means the same station serves a rehabilitation walker and a regular park user without any adjustment. Its difficulty rating is easy and its footprint is among the smallest in the range, so it fits into circuits where space is tight.

Why individual leg loading matters outdoors
Most outdoor leg stations load both legs together, which lets a stronger side carry a weaker one. The leg lifter works one knee extensor at a time, so an asymmetry becomes visible to the user immediately and can be addressed. That is directly relevant to the populations these installations are built for: older visitors maintaining walking capacity, people returning from a knee injury, and anyone who spends the day seated.
- Individual knee extensor work, one leg at a time
- Resistance scaling with the user body weight, no setting required
- Easy difficulty rating, accessible to beginners and older visitors
- Compact 83 x 69 cm footprint, 45 kg structure
- Steel4Fit reinforced construction for high traffic sites
Installation and durability
Reserve the 383 x 369 cm safety area and surface it against the free height of fall on the installation drawing. The station is small enough to fill a gap in an existing circuit, which is one of the reasons it is often added to a scheme late; make sure the safety zone does not overlap a neighbouring unit when it is placed.
The Steel4Fit build uses seamless S355 for curved parts and S235 for straight members, hot dip galvanised and then powder coated twice in red and graphite. Protection therefore does not depend on the paint film remaining intact. Inspect the pivot bushings and the ground anchors during routine checks and record the annual main inspection.
Frequently asked questions
Which muscles does it work?
The knee extensors, principally the quadriceps, worked one leg at a time. The trunk stabilises during the movement but is not the target.
Can the resistance be increased?
Not by a setting. The lever geometry makes the resistance proportional to the user body weight, so progression comes through repetitions, tempo and control rather than through added load. That is deliberate for public equipment used without supervision.
What makes it suitable for intensive municipal use?
The Steel4Fit specification: seamless S355 curved elements, S235 straight components, hot dip galvanising followed by two powder coats, and TUV Rheinland certification against EN 16630:2015.
