Description
Sagitta is built from twelve net modules suspended between seventeen steel posts, with three slides completing the circuit. Covering 24.1 x 21.2 m at 4.6 m high, it is less a single piece of equipment than a continuous net landscape that a large group can occupy at once.
How a modular net field works
- Seventeen steel bearing posts defining the field
- Twelve play net modules suspended between them
- Three slides faced with animal-themed HPL panels
- Multiple entry points around the perimeter
Because each module spans between two posts, the field can be read as a series of connected rooms. Children cross from one to the next, and the transitions, where the net changes angle and tension, are where the physical challenge lives. It is a very different experience from climbing a mast-based pyramid, and it holds a wider spread of abilities on the same structure.
Site requirements
Reserve 28.3 x 24.9 m of clear ground for the equipment and its safety area, and cast foundations at 1.0 m depth. The free height of fall is 2.85 m across the field, so the impact surface specification is uniform, which simplifies both procurement and later inspection.
Materials
Hot-dip galvanised steel structure, nets in braided polyamide rope reinforced with a zinc-plated steel core, animal-themed HPL decorative panels on the slides.

Frequently asked questions
Is a uniform fall height an advantage?
It is. A single 2.85 m figure across the whole field means one surfacing specification, one set of test values and one inspection criterion, rather than zones with different requirements that have to be recorded separately.
How many foundations are involved?
Seventeen post positions, each cast at 1.0 m depth. That is a substantial groundworks package, so confirm ground conditions and buried services before the programme is fixed.
What sites suit a structure of this size?
Regional parks, large holiday parks, school campuses and visitor attractions, that is, anywhere that needs to absorb a coach party or a full school cohort without the play area feeling crowded.
