Description

The Etenon R5505 is a seated leg press with plate loading, a reclined backrest and a wide multi position foot plate. It exists because the 45 degree press intimidates new members, and new members are where a club’s first months of subscription revenue come from.

A seated press puts the user upright, with an obvious way in and out and a movement that reads correctly at a glance. That matters on the gym floor: the station a member is willing to try on their first visit is worth more than the one that is technically superior but goes unused. A coach can teach the movement in an induction session, and the turnaround between sets is fast enough to keep a queue moving.

Loading is by discs rather than a stack, so the resistance ceiling is set by the plates on site rather than by the machine. The backrest and seat carry high density foam with a wipe clean covering, the foot plate is wide and textured with several usable positions, and the frame is reinforced steel with an epoxy paint finish. Manufacture is European, by Etenon.

The station new members will actually use

Induction sessions live or die on the equipment a coach can hand over confidently. A seated press with a guided path, a clear seat position and plate loading in visible increments is the easiest heavy leg exercise to teach, and it is one of the few machines a member will return to unsupervised in week two.

Placement matters more than usual: the plate loading side must stay clear so discs can be handled without crossing a walkway, and a disc tree nearby avoids members carrying plates across the floor. Dimensions, clearances and the delivery weight for this reference are confirmed in the free siting study we prepare from your room drawing, issued with the quotation, along with a 3D layout showing circulation and access on the loading side. We deliver to France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, quote export per project, and dispatch within five to ten working days from stock.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a seated press over a 45 degree press?

Accessibility. The seated position is less intimidating, easier to enter and exit and simpler to coach. A 45 degree press allows heavier absolute loads and suits a strength room; a general fitness floor usually gets more use out of the seated version.

What is the maximum load?

It is set by the plates loaded on site rather than by a fixed stack, which is the practical advantage of plate loading. Confirm the disc capacity for your intended loads at the quotation stage.

Is the machine suitable for rehabilitation work?

It is used in sports physiotherapy and return to play programmes after knee and ankle injuries because the path is guided and the load can start very low. Confirm the protocol with the practitioner responsible.
