Description
The Etenon R5502 is a standing unilateral leg curl. Where a lying curl trains the hamstring in isolation, the standing position loads it with the hip extended — the joint configuration that occurs in running, jumping and changes of direction.
Standing, because that is where the movement happens
The hamstring crosses two joints. Train it lying down and the hip stays flexed; train it standing and the hip is extended, which is the position an athlete is actually in at foot strike. A firm hip and pelvis support isolates the knee flexion so the movement does not turn into a hip hinge. For a physical preparation centre, that is the difference between a machine that builds a number and a machine that transfers to the field.
Specification
- Standing, functional position with direct transfer to sporting movement.
- Independent unilateral movement.
- Firm hip and pelvis pad isolating knee flexion.
- Plate-loaded, with progressive loading limited only by the plates available.
- Compact reinforced steel frame in Q235, epoxy paint.
Who specifies it
Physical preparation centres; clubs with a sporting membership drawn from football, rugby, athletics, skiing and dance; sports physiotherapy and reconditioning practices; and premium fitness facilities building a credible performance area. The compact frame is part of the appeal — the station adds a distinct capability without consuming the floor space of a full leg machine.
Making it visible
A specialist station only earns its cost if members and coaches can see it. We position the R5502 on the 3D layout drawing where it is visible from the functional zone rather than tucked behind a machine line, and supply the coaching team with usage protocols so it is programmed from day one.

Frequently asked questions
Standing or lying leg curl — which should we buy first?
If the membership is general fitness, the lying curl. If the facility positions itself around athletic performance, the standing version, because it matches the joint position of running and jumping.
How long does a side-to-side assessment take?
Around thirty seconds per leg at a fixed load is enough for a coach to see a difference. The value is that the result is repeatable from session to session.
Is it suitable for a small floor?
Yes. The frame is compact for a lower-body station, which is why it appears in functional zones where a full leg machine would not fit.
