Compact 3 in 1 Outdoor Fitness Station, Surfer, Runner and Twister Units

This compact outdoor station combines the (E)03 Surfer, the (E)07 Runner and the (E)08 Twister, three units built around the trunk and the hips rather than around load. The Surfer and the Twister both train rotation and lateral control, the Runner adds an aerobic lower body element, and together they produce the pairing of core work and continuous movement that suits a general public installation better than any strength station.

The Surfer is used standing on a platform, with the hands on the handles and the body swinging in a pendulum motion driven from the hips. It tones the abdominal wall, refines waist control, improves hip joint mobility and builds coordination between the upper and lower body. Users stay on it longer than on any other unit because the movement is enjoyable rather than effortful.

The Runner is the aerobic unit: standing on moving platforms with a support bar, alternating the legs to strengthen the legs, mobilise the joints, activate the hips and improve posture and coordination. The Twister works standing on a rotating platform, holding the rail while the lower body turns alternately left and right with the upper body held still, which trains rotational control and mobilises the spine and hips. All three are suitable from beginner to trained athlete.

The compact stations are supplied in several combinations and the choice should follow the population rather than the budget. What is the difference between the Surfer and the Twister?

The Surfer swings the body in a pendulum motion from the hips, working the abdominal wall and coordination. The Twister rotates the lower body under a still upper body on a turning platform, working rotational control and spinal mobility.

Is any supervision needed?

No. The units are driven by the user’s own movement, with nothing to set, load or secure, which is why they suit unsupervised public and residential sites.

What preparation is required before installation?

A prepared concrete base sized from the equipment drawing, and a firm free draining surface around the units. Both are set out in the free implantation study we provide before quotation.
