Bodytone, Lexco, Ziva and Xebex: Choosing a Professional Equipment Range

Guide des appareils de musculation professionnels - Choisissez la qualité avec Light In Fitness, Bodytone, Lexco, Ziva et Xebex

Once you have decided that your facility needs professional equipment, the next question is whose. Brand is not a badge on a fit-out: it determines the frame construction you get, the adjustment range your members will actually use, how long parts stay available, and whether the machines in your strength area and your conditioning area feel like one gym or two.

Light In Fitness supplies four principal ranges for commercial sites: Bodytone, Lexco, Ziva and Xebex. They do not compete with each other so much as cover different parts of a floor. This guide sets out what each one is built for and which sites each one suits.

Why a commercial site specifies professional ranges

Professional equipment is built against a different brief from anything sold for unsupervised private use, and the difference shows up in three places.

  • Durability under a commercial duty cycle. Machines designed for intensive use resist wear in a way consumer equipment does not, which is what matters on a floor with high footfall.
  • Ergonomics and safety. Professional design minimises injury risk while keeping the user comfortable through a long session, because on a commercial floor those two things are the operator’s responsibility rather than the user’s.
  • Versatility per square metre. Multi-function machines cover several muscle groups in one footprint, which optimises both floor area and fit-out budget.

Indoor stationary training equipment for a supervised commercial facility should be specified in class S of EN ISO 20957-1. That is the baseline every range below meets, and it is what separates all of them from equipment declared for private use.

Bodytone: technology and range breadth

Bodytone is the broadest of the four. It covers selectorised machines, plate-loaded machines, cable stations, benches, racks, cardio and accessories, which means a whole facility can be specified from one manufacturer with a consistent visual language and consistent adjustment logic across every station.

  • Signature stations: leg presses, multi-function benches and pull-up and dip stations are the most frequently specified Bodytone items in commercial fit-outs.
  • What it does well: ergonomics, modern design and integrated safety devices, giving a training experience that is comfortable and predictable across a wide member profile.
  • Technology: intuitive adjustment systems and interactive LCD consoles that let performance be tracked in real time, which matters if you run a member app or a coaching programme.

Bodytone is the default answer when you are equipping a complete facility rather than filling a gap, and when the visual coherence of the floor is part of what you are selling.

Lexco: robustness for intensive use

Lexco is built around durability under load. Its machines are made for demanding environments and are the pragmatic choice when the fit-out has to be robust and the budget has to work.

  • Signature stations: Lexco selectorised machines cover chest, shoulders, quadriceps and hamstrings safely, on guided paths that suit a mixed membership.
  • Durability: high-quality materials that hold up under intensive use, which is the whole point of the range.
  • Adjustability: Lexco machines are adjustable across a wide range, which is what allows the same station to serve strength training and rehabilitation work.

Lexco is a sound choice for gyms and sports clubs that need solid, reliable stations for intensive training without specifying at the top of the market.

Ziva: finish, feel and premium accessories

Ziva is the finish-led range. Its equipment is distinguished by careful design and first-quality materials, and it is where a facility goes when the tactile quality of the equipment is part of the member experience.

  • Signature products: kettlebells, dumbbells and strength accessories, valued for their finish and their resistance to wear. Ziva also supplies robust structures for full-body work.
  • Ergonomics: materials that are pleasant in the hand and accessories that grip well, which sounds minor until you consider that these are the items members hold for an entire session.
  • Design: equipment that combines appearance and effectiveness, aimed at facilities whose members notice both.

Ziva suits hotels, premium clubs and boutique studios where the equipment is part of the positioning rather than just the function.

Xebex: air resistance and high-intensity conditioning

Xebex covers the conditioning end of a floor. Its machines are robust, versatile and built for the kind of use that destroys lighter equipment, which is why they dominate in cross-training boxes and performance centres.

  • Signature machines: air rowers, assault-style air bikes and air runners, suited to high-intensity interval work and cross-training circuits.
  • Technology: adjustable resistance systems and accurate performance monitors, so sessions can be programmed and compared rather than estimated.
  • Versatility: the same machines serve elite athletes and members working on general conditioning, because air resistance scales with the effort the user puts in.

Xebex is what you specify when your programming is interval-based, when your conditioning area has to survive group classes, or when you are building a cross-training box.

Choosing the right range for your facility

Three questions narrow the choice quickly.

  1. How much floor do you have? Make sure the equipment fits the surface you actually have. Where area is tight, multi-function machines deliver more exercises per square metre than a series of single stations.
  2. Who uses the site? Your member profile should drive the choice. A broad, mixed membership is best served by the adjustable, ergonomic stations that Bodytone and Lexco build their ranges around.
  3. What are you programming? A dedicated conditioning area points to Xebex. A strength floor points to Bodytone or Lexco. An accessory and free-weight area where finish matters points to Ziva. Most facilities specify from more than one.

Our professional strength training machines cover the Bodytone and Lexco ranges across selectorised, plate-loaded and cable families. For conditioning, the Xebex air cardio range covers rowers, air bikes and ski ergometers, while Ziva rigs and racks cover the cross-training structures.

Why specify through Light In Fitness

  • Selection. We carry ranges chosen for build quality and technical development rather than catalogue breadth alone, which is what lets a specification hold up over a ten-year fit-out.
  • Specification support. We work from your floor plan and your member profile to identify the stations that fit your space and your programming, rather than handing over a product list.
  • After-sales. Installation, maintenance and ongoing support for the equipment, which is the part of the purchase that decides how the floor looks in year five.

Frequently asked questions

Which brand is best for a commercial gym?

There is no single answer, because the four ranges cover different parts of a floor. Bodytone and Lexco cover strength, Xebex covers conditioning, Ziva covers accessories and finish-led equipment. Most commercial fit-outs use two or three together.

Can I mix brands in one facility?

Yes, and most sites do. The thing to keep consistent within a zone is the adjustment logic and the visual language, so members are not re-learning the interface between two machines that do similar jobs. Across zones, mixing is normal and often better.

What standard should the equipment meet?

For indoor stationary training equipment in a supervised commercial facility, specify class S of EN ISO 20957-1. Class I is a professional class for inclusive access, not a higher intensity tier.

Are spare parts available long term?

Parts availability is one of the reasons to specify a professional range at all. Ask for the parts commitment in writing before you order, because it is what determines whether a station out of service is a repair or a replacement.

Specify your fit-out

The right range for your facility follows from your floor area, your member profile and what you actually programme. Those three answers usually point to a combination rather than a single brand, and that combination is what a proper specification sets out.

Send us your floor plan and your intended use, and we will put together a costed specification across the ranges that fit. Request a quote and our team will work through it with you.
