Description
The Work-fit lumbar bench brings back-extension training to wooden health trails: a station built in glued-laminated Scandinavian pine that blends naturally into parks, forests and green residential settings while offering targeted strengthening for the lumbar region.
A natural material, engineered for outdoors
The structure is made of laminated Scandinavian pine treated in autoclave to class IV, ensuring lasting durability against weather exposure. Metal components are in AISI-304 stainless steel, with electro-galvanised fasteners of grade 8.8 to DIN 267, so the hardware matches the longevity of the timber. No part requires special treatment for disposal, and spare parts remain available for 10 years.
Training on the lumbar bench
The inclined bench supports the hips while the torso works through controlled back extensions, strengthening the lumbar muscles, glutes and hamstrings, a natural counterpart to the abdominal stations of a health trail. Designed for one user at a time, the station suits adults and teenagers combining walking or running with strengthening exercises along a course.
Planning your wooden health trail
Work-fit modules are laid out per project: the ground footprint depends on the configuration selected, and each module is dimensioned on plan with the peripheral safety zones required by EN 16630. For this bench, allow an approximate safety area of 5000 x 3660 mm (about 16 square metres) with a free fall height of 0.47 m; exact dimensions and weight are supplied with the project layout plan.

Frequently asked questions
What are the exact dimensions of the station?
The ground footprint depends on the configuration chosen for your trail: each Work-fit module is dimensioned on plan, together with the peripheral safety zones required by EN 16630. Exact dimensions and weight are provided with the project layout plan.
How durable is a wooden station outdoors?
The class IV autoclave treatment protects the laminated pine against moisture and insects, and the stainless steel hardware resists corrosion. Spare parts availability is guaranteed for 10 years.
Which muscles does the lumbar bench work?
Primarily the lumbar extensors, with the glutes and hamstrings assisting. It is usually placed alongside abdominal and stretching stations to balance the trunk work of a health trail.
