A small footprint that still trains everything

Under 14 square metres of ground area, the BL-ACR1 supports pull-ups, dips, muscle-ups, hanging core work and bodyweight strength progressions, and it accepts accessories such as rings, ropes and suspension trainers to extend the range further. In practice it combines athletic strength, weightlifting-style pulling, gymnastic work, agility and endurance on one structure, which is what makes it the usual choice where a full calisthenics park will not fit.

Corrosion protection in detail

Cold-formed steel tube gives high tensile strength and a corrosion-resistant internal surface. Each tube is hot-dip zinc coated, then given a chromate conversion coating, washed and sanitised before a baked powder coating is applied, which produces a strong molecular bond between coating and substrate. The powder itself is a Super Durable polyester with light-stable pigments for high UV resistance and low fade. This is a galvanised steel structure with a powder finish, engineered to prevent rust and corrosion in the harshest weather.

Installation, standards and anchoring

In free public access, such as a municipal fitness area, a park or a school yard, this equipment falls under EN 16630 for permanently installed outdoor fitness modules. Installation requires a peripheral safety zone of at least 1.50 m around the structure and an impact-attenuating surface compliant with EN 1177, with thickness determined by the free fall height. On closed private sites, such as a military base, a company facility or a training box, the same requirements remain the reference for good practice.

Frequently asked questions

What surfacing should be specified underneath?

An EN 1177 compliant impact-attenuating surface, dimensioned to the free fall height of the structure. For the landing area we recommend bonded rubber tiles of 40 to 65 mm, which is the range that covers the fall heights present on this cage.

Is the cage stainless steel?

No. The BL range is built in hot-dip galvanised steel with a chromate conversion coating and a baked powder finish. That system is specified precisely to prevent rust and corrosion outdoors, and it is what gives the structure its colour options.

How is the cage anchored?

Either by grouting the base plates into concrete foundations, or by bolting to an existing concrete slab where one is already in place. We supply the anchoring drawing with the quotation so the groundworks can be priced separately if you prefer.
