Rubber Gym Tile 50 x 100 cm — 20 mm Collection Series, Black

The Collection Series rubber tile is the only rectangular format in the Light In Fitness flooring range: 50 x 100 cm, 20 mm thick, 9.25 kg per tile, at 18.50 EUR excluding VAT per tile (37 EUR per m2). Because the tile is exactly twice as long as it is wide, it produces a brick-bond (staggered-joint) floor natively — no half-tile cutting at the start of every other row, which any square format requires.

Why a 50 x 100 cm rectangular format?

Brick-bond laying is possible with any tile, but with a square tile every second row starts with a cut half-tile: 5 to 8 cuts on a 20 m2 job, plus the wasted offcuts. The 50 x 100 cm format produces the same staggered pattern with whole tiles laid as they come. The staggered joints also improve mechanical stability — shear forces spread across the surface instead of concentrating at four-corner intersections, so tiles do not migrate under heavy traffic or rolling loads.

Where it works best

The format is made for 10 to 80 m2 spaces where the finish matters: private coaching studios, premium hotel gyms, cardio zones (the rectangle matches the footprint of treadmills and bikes), and 100 cm-wide walkways, which one tile covers lengthwise without a single cut. Above roughly 100 m2 of open commercial floor, a 100 x 100 cm square tile is faster and cheaper per square metre.

Like all 20 mm tiles, this reference covers cardio, pin-loaded machines and general strength training — not bar drops. Free-weight zones with dropped loads need 40 mm minimum.

How many tiles do I need for 20 m2?

Each tile covers 0.5 m2, so 20 m2 = 40 tiles (740 EUR excluding VAT). For brick-bond laying, allow about 5% extra for row starts and perimeter cuts: 42 tiles, 777 EUR excluding VAT.

Can it be combined with 100 x 100 cm tiles?

Yes — a common layout uses square tiles on large open areas and the Collection Series in brick bond on walkways, borders and tight spaces. As long as every tile is 20 mm thick there is no step between zones.

Is it suitable for public-access buildings (ERP)?

The fire classification of this reference is available on request and must be confirmed in writing before any project subject to a safety commission. Our range includes 20 mm tiles with documented Cfl-s1 and Bfl-s1 classifications for those cases.
