Description
Premium Lock is a 20 mm recycled SBR rubber gym flooring tile supplied as four 50 x 50 cm tiles and ten clips per square metre, laid without adhesive. The clip system is the point of the product: the floor is assembled dry, it can be lifted for a room change or a lease end, and the substrate is left intact.
The tile has a two layer structure, a 980 kg/m3 wearing surface over an 850 kg/m3 base. The denser top layer takes the abrasion and the impacts, while the lighter base provides the cushioning, which is a more efficient use of material than a single homogeneous density. The surface is smooth and black with no visible granulate, and it keeps its grip when wet or under perspiration.
Fire classification is Efl to EN 13501-1, which corresponds to use outside public buildings subject to the French ERP fire regulations. EN 1177 impact attenuation is not stated for this reference, so consult us for any project involving a free height of fall. Maintenance is soapy water and a mop, since the closed surface does not trap residues.

Where a clip laid tile makes sense
Three situations justify a dry laid clip floor rather than a bonded one. A leased space where the floor must be removed at the end of the lease. A room that changes function, where the free weight area moves as the programme evolves. And a project where the client wants to install the floor themselves, since no adhesive and no specialist tooling are required.
For a permanent free weight zone under heavy dropped loads, a thicker tile or a bonded system is usually the better specification. Send the room dimensions and the intended use with your quotation request and we will confirm the thickness.
Frequently asked questions
Is adhesive needed?
No. Ten clips per square metre are supplied and the floor is laid dry, which also allows it to be lifted later.
Can the tile be used in a public building subject to ERP fire rules?
The classification is Efl to EN 13501-1, intended for use outside ERP buildings. For an ERP project, ask us for the fire rated references in the range.
Are there discounts on large areas?
