Description
The Training tile is a 10 mm recycled SBR rubber floor in 100 x 100 cm format, weighing 10.5 kg per square metre, for areas where the floor absorbs vibration rather than impact. It is the thickness specified under cardio equipment: treadmills, bikes, cross trainers, indoor cycling bikes, rowers and stair climbers transmit vibration into the structure but do not drop loads onto the floor.
The finish is a medium black granulate, non slip, and the tile is laid loose or bonded, indoors or outdoors. Its thermal range of minus 30 to plus 80 degrees Celsius makes it compatible with underfloor heating, which matters in hotel and residential projects where the gym shares a heating circuit with the rest of the building.
The limits are equally clear. At 10 mm the tile is not certified to EN 1177 and is not suitable for playground fall areas, and it is not the right specification under a rack where barbells are dropped. Fire classification is available on request.

When 10 mm is the right thickness
Ten millimetres is enough under cardio machines, in stretching and studio areas and in circulation, where the tile protects the substrate, absorbs vibration and stops machines walking across the floor. It is also the usual choice for a home gym or a corporate fitness room where free weight work is limited to dumbbells.
It is not enough in a drop zone, under a lifting platform or in any area subject to a fall height requirement. Mixing thicknesses across a room is normal practice: the thin tile covers most of the surface and the thick tile is concentrated where loads land.
Frequently asked questions
Is the tile compatible with underfloor heating?
Yes, its service range is minus 30 to plus 80 degrees Celsius.
Can it be used in a playground?
No. It is not certified to EN 1177 and 10 mm is insufficient for an impact attenuating surface.
Does it need bonding?
Loose laying is possible on a flat substrate. Bonding is used where the surface is sloped or where the floor must not move under wheeled equipment.
