Description
The RIEGEL is the rope structure that engages more than muscles. Across five circular steel arches, a multi-directional rope network is enriched with five rotating sensory panels, a woven sensory seat, coloured rollers and a variety of seats – blending climbing, balance and sensory stimulation in a single 7.8 x 7.4 m unit.
Climbing meets sensory play
Inclusive playground design increasingly demands equipment that serves different needs at once. On the RIEGEL, active children traverse the multi-oriented net, tackle three climbing ropes with holds and cross rubber mats set at 0.6 m and 2.7 m, while others explore the rotating panels, spin the coloured rollers or settle into the woven sensory seat and stainless steel circular seat. The structure keeps mixed-ability groups aged 5 to 14 playing side by side.

Frequently asked questions
What do the sensory elements add?
The rotating panels, coloured rollers and woven seat provide visual and tactile stimulation, giving children who prefer quieter play a full role on the structure alongside active climbers.
Is the RIEGEL appropriate for inclusive playground projects?
Its combination of low-level sensory features and progressive climbing challenges makes it a strong candidate; our team can advise on complementary accessible surfacing and layout.
What safety area is required?
Allow a minimum of 10.8 x 10.4 m with impact-attenuating surfacing rated for the 2.7 m free fall height, per EN 1176.
