Description
REGENT is a long, narrow rope play structure for sites where width is the constraint: a strip of ground along a school boundary, a residual space between a car park and a hedge, a courtyard in a housing scheme. At 6.5 m long and 2.7 m wide it fits where a square climbing frame will not, and still gives young children a complete route to follow.
An elongated layout for narrow ground
Instead of stacking play vertically, REGENT spreads it lengthways. Children enter at a low, supervised access point, climb the rope netting on the flanks and reach a single raised platform. The 2.8 m overall height and the 1.0 m free height of fall keep the structure visually modest, which is often what makes it acceptable in a residential courtyard or a conservation-sensitive setting.
- Stainless steel structural posts
- Climbing rope nets on both flanks
- One raised play platform
- A low access point suited to young children
Materials
Stainless steel posts, 18 mm polyamide rope reinforced with a braided galvanised steel core, cut-resistant and UV-stabilised, assembled with aluminium and stainless steel connectors. Decorative elements are HPL panel, resistant to weather and impact. Foundations are high-strength concrete at 0.6 m depth.
Free height of fall and surfacing
The free height of fall is 1.0 m. That is below the 1.0 m threshold above which impact-attenuating surfacing becomes mandatory under EN 1176-1, but many clients still specify a surface tested to EN 1177 to reduce wear on the ground and to keep the area usable in wet weather. The equipment itself is certified to EN 1176 by an independent certification body; any surfacing is specified separately under EN 1177.

Frequently asked questions
How narrow a plot can REGENT go into?
The structure is 2.7 m wide, but the usable plot has to include the safety area on both flanks, which extends well beyond the frame. We issue the exact safety area with the siting drawing for your plot rather than quoting a single figure, because boundary walls, fences and planting all affect it.
Is it suitable for a nursery?
The low access point, the single platform and the 1.0 m fall height make it a reasonable fit for nursery and reception-age children under supervision. For an under-3 group, confirm the access detail with us before ordering.
Do the stainless posts need painting?
No. Stainless steel posts are supplied unpainted and need only periodic cleaning. This is the reason REGENT is often chosen for coastal and pool-side sites where a painted frame would need recoating.
Send us the plot dimensions and boundary constraints and we will return a costed proposal with a scaled siting drawing for REGENT within 24 business hours. Full technical data sheet available on request.
