Description
KIMBERLEY is a large multi-route rope play structure designed for sites that have to absorb a full class, a campsite afternoon or a busy Saturday in a municipal park. Interlinked platforms and climbing nets on several levels give children more than one way up, across and down, so users spread across the footprint instead of queuing at a single entry point.
Play routes and simultaneous capacity
The structure is organised around raised platforms linked to one another by rope runs and climbing nets. Because each platform can be reached from more than one direction, a group arriving together splits naturally into several routes, and slower or more cautious children are not blocked by faster ones. That is the practical difference between a single-tower frame and a multi-route rope structure of this size.
- Stainless steel structural posts carrying the complete rope assembly
- Climbing nets and rope runs arranged over several levels
- Interconnected raised play platforms
- Varied climbing and gripping elements along each route
Materials and weathering
The posts are stainless steel. The ropes are 18 mm polyamide with a braided galvanised steel core, cut-resistant and UV-stabilised, assembled with aluminium and stainless steel connectors. Decorative elements are HPL panel, resistant to weather and impact. The complete assembly is set on high-strength concrete foundations at 0.6 m depth.
Siting and surfacing
The overall footprint is 8.4 x 5.3 m for a height of 3.3 m, and the free height of fall is 2.7 m, so the impact area must receive an impact-attenuating surface with a critical fall height of at least 2.7 m, tested to EN 1177 — wet-pour rubber, rubber safety tiles, bark or an equivalent loose fill. The play equipment itself is certified to EN 1176-1 by an independent certification body; the surfacing is a separate line in your specification, governed by EN 1177.

Frequently asked questions
Does one structure really cover a 3 to 14 age range?
The declared range is 3 to 14 years. In practice the lower platforms and the wider-mesh net sections carry the younger end, while the upper levels and the steeper rope runs hold the interest of older children. Nursery-age users should still be supervised, as with any equipment declared from 3 years.
What surfacing do I need to budget for?
An impact-attenuating surface certified to EN 1177 for a critical fall height of 2.7 m or more, covering the full safety area shown on the siting drawing. Grass and compacted ground are not acceptable at this fall height.
How are the ropes inspected?
Routine visual inspection looks for abrasion of the outer polyamide braid and for any exposure of the steel core; connectors are checked for tightness. The steel core means a cut rope does not fail suddenly, but any rope showing a visible core should be replaced.
Tell us the site dimensions, the age profile you are planning for and the surfacing already in place, and we will return a costed proposal with the siting drawing for KIMBERLEY within 24 business hours. Full technical data sheet and installation drawings are available on request.
