Description
ORLOV occupies 3.6 x 1.9 m. That is smaller than a parking bay, and it is the reason this unit ends up in places that would otherwise have no play provision at all: hotel gardens, restaurant terraces, small residential courtyards and the corner of a campsite reception area.
Where a very small unit works
- Hotels and guest houses that want a family offer without giving up lawn or terrace
- Housing schemes where the play allocation is a single pocket of amenity space
- Campsites and holiday parks needing a second, quieter play point away from the main area
- Existing playgrounds with one remaining gap too small for a full structure
What you still get
The specification does not drop with the size. Stainless steel posts, 18 mm steel-cored polyamide rope, aluminium and stainless steel connectors and HPL detailing are identical to the largest units in the collection, and the unit carries the same EN 1176 certification. Climbing nets on the faces lead to a raised platform, with a secure access point for the youngest users, and the free height of fall is held to 1.0 m.

Inspection and records
Even the smallest public play unit needs a written inspection record. We supply the technical file, the certificate of conformity and a component register on delivery, so a hotel duty manager or a housing officer can carry out routine visual checks without specialist training and hand a complete history to the annual inspector.
Frequently asked questions
What is the smallest plot ORLOV can go into?
6.3 x 4.6 m of clear ground, which is the safety area. Anything smaller cannot be made compliant by repositioning the equipment.
Does a hotel or campsite have the same obligations as a council?
Any playground open to guests is a public playground for compliance purposes. The operator is responsible for the surfacing, for routine and annual inspections and for keeping records, whatever the size of the equipment.
Can two units be installed side by side?
They can, provided each keeps a clear safety area or the overlapping zones are assessed together. Two small units at opposite ends of a garden often work better than one larger structure, because they separate age groups.
Send us the dimensions of the space you have, however awkward, and we will tell you honestly whether it can take a compliant unit. Browse the Diamond Collection play structures or request a quote.
