Description

The REB-7 play structure is a complete outdoor playground built from recycled plastic profiles combined with timber elements, certified to EN 1176 and designed for children aged 3 to 12. Six multifunction platforms are linked by a tubular slide with a 1.6 m entry height, a monkey bridge, hanging rings, a fireman’s pole and an interactive blackboard, with four different ways up: a climbing wall, an inclined net, a vertical ladder and a ramp with a rope. The recycled plastic comes from selective packaging collection and needs no surface maintenance, which is the argument that matters for a local authority costing an installation over 15 to 20 years. It is priced at 39 500 EUR excluding VAT.

Surfacing, whole life cost and installation

EN 1176 is the mandatory standard for playground equipment in public spaces: it covers design, the safety of individual elements and the periodic inspection requirements, and the certification has to be provided with the technical documentation at handover, which is what a school safety commission will ask to see. Impact attenuating surfacing to EN 1177 is sized against the critical fall height of the structure, which is supplied on request with the data sheet.

The material choice is where this structure differs from a timber only or painted steel playground. Timber needs a stain or oil treatment every two to three years across the whole structure, and painted steel rusts wherever the coating is damaged, so both carry recurring labour and product costs plus part replacement. The recycled plastic profiles need water cleaning and nothing else, and their vandalism resistance is high because they do not take visible cuts. Over a 15 to 20 year ownership period that removes a line item from the maintenance budget, which is a concrete argument in grant applications where whole life cost is an assessment criterion. The FSC certification on the timber component supports the sustainability side of the same application.

Delivery covers France, Belgium and Switzerland. Colours can be specified, and a free personalised quotation is returned within 48 hours.

Frequently asked questions

What does the structure develop for children aged 3 to 12?

The six platforms, the monkey bridge, the rings and the fireman’s pole cover the motor skills built in that age range: climbing, balance, hanging, two handed coordination and sliding. The interactive blackboard adds a cognitive element that most play structures do not carry, which is useful for nurseries and primary schools.

Does the recycled plastic really need no treatment?

The profiles resist scratching, weather, UV, humidity and vandalism and do not split or crack, so upkeep is water cleaning. There is no painting and no periodic treatment schedule on those components. Routine EN 1176 inspection of fixings, wear and the surfacing still applies as it would to any playground.

Is it suitable for a campsite or a hotel?

Yes. Campsites, club hotels and residences use it as a booking argument for families, and the low maintenance profile suits seasonal sites where there is no permanent technical team. Municipalities, parks and schools are the other common installations.
