Description
POULPE takes the deep-sea octopus as its starting point. A raised platform in HPL panel sits at the centre, reached by inner and outer rope spirals, and two stainless steel tube slides carry children back to ground level. Over a 12.7 x 5.2 m footprint, the result is a structure with a strong silhouette and a genuinely circular flow of play.
Why the circulation works
- Two independent spiral rope routes, one inside the structure and one outside, so ascent is never blocked
- A raised platform in HPL panel forming the hub of the unit
- Two stainless steel tube slides that separate descent from climbing
- Free height of fall limited to 2.2 m, lower than most units of comparable height
Enclosed tube slides also matter on sites with limited supervision: they keep users contained through the fastest part of the journey and are far less prone to hot-surface complaints in summer than an open slide bed.
Materials
Stainless steel structural posts, 18 mm polyamide rope with a braided galvanised steel core that is cut resistant and UV stabilised, aluminium and stainless steel connectors, stainless steel tube slides, HPL decorative panels and high-strength concrete foundations at 1.0 m depth.

Frequently asked questions
Why stainless steel slides rather than plastic?
Stainless steel tube slides resist vandalism, burning and UV degradation, and they keep their finish for decades. They are the usual choice for unsupervised public sites; polyethylene slides are specified elsewhere in the range where colour and thermal comfort take priority.
Do the two slides need separate run-out zones?
Each slide exit needs its own clear run-out, and both are already accounted for in the 16.6 x 8.1 m safety area. Keep those exit paths free of planting and furniture.
Can POULPE be installed on a sloping site?
Slides and rope structures need a level base under the whole safety area. On a slope we either terrace the platform or set the levels so the slide exits fall on the low side; send a topographic survey and we will advise at quotation stage.
Tell us your plot dimensions and levels and we will return a costed layout. See the wider rope play sets range or request a quote for POULPE.
