Description
Few playground structures make a statement like the Peacock. Two independent closed loops of curved steel tube rise from the ground and are joined by a vast web of climbing nets, creating a landmark course for climbing and obstacle crossing that anchors large public play areas, leisure parks and destination playgrounds.
A monumental climbing course for high-traffic sites
Spanning more than 47 metres in length, the Peacock is engineered for intensive collective use. Its rope network – a minimum of 2,000 metres of 18 mm polyamide cord – forms suspended pathways, climbing planes and crossing challenges between the two loops, keeping large groups of children aged 5 to 14 moving through the structure simultaneously.
- Two independent structural loops connected by climbing nets
- Rope network with a total length of at least 2,000 m (18 mm polyamide cord)
- 20 rubber mats, 8 mm thick, integrated into the course
- 7 HDPE panels, 15 mm thick
- Recommended age range: 5 to 14 years
- Free fall height: 3.0 m – minimum safety zone 52.2 x 33.8 m
Built for outdoor public service
The frame is fabricated from round steel tube with a minimum diameter of 193.7 mm, hot-dip galvanised and then powder-coated for long-term corrosion resistance outdoors. The structure is anchored on reinforced concrete footings set 1.0 m deep. Please note that access for heavy construction plant is required during installation, which should be factored into site planning.

Frequently asked questions
How much space does the Peacock require?
The equipment itself measures 47.2 x 28.8 m, but the minimum safety zone extends to 52.2 x 33.8 m. Your site must also allow access for heavy construction machinery during assembly, so early site surveys are strongly recommended.
Is impact-attenuating surfacing needed?
With a free fall height of 3.0 m, the structure must be installed over surfacing appropriate to that fall height in accordance with EN 1176 requirements. We can include a compliant surfacing solution in your quotation.
How durable is the rope network?
The 18 mm polyamide cords are designed for intensive public use, and wear points are protected by 8 mm rubber mats and 15 mm HDPE panels distributed across the course.
