Description

The Lexco LPS-110 is a selectorised lumbar machine of 980 x 1260 x 1368 mm and 240 kg, with an eleven level footrest and a zero point block on the drive unit. The zero point block allows the exercise to be performed at low intensity with continuous resistance, which is what makes the station usable by members returning from injury or starting a first strength programme.

The eleven level footrest removes unnecessary movement by fixing the lower body in the position that suits the user, and the rack type seat adjustment offers ten levels. A gas spring damper smooths the return phase, an important detail on a lumbar machine where an uncontrolled return is the moment when the lower back is loaded badly.

The seat is ergonomic with urethane memory foam padding, and the weight block is enclosed by a double sided ABS cover. The compact footprint of 980 x 1260 mm suits a floor where the posterior chain area has to fit alongside the free weight zone.

Lumbar work in a professional facility

A guided lumbar station is one of the few machines specified as much by physiotherapy practices as by commercial clubs. The common requirement is control: a fixed trajectory, a low starting load and a damped return, all of which this machine provides.

On a club floor, place it with the other posterior chain stations rather than in a rehabilitation corner, so that it is used by the general membership as well. Confirm the load path before delivery, since 240 kg is positioned once and permanently.

Placing the machine in a visible part of the floor also changes who uses it. Lumbar work is often avoided by members who associate it with injury, and a station that is guided, damped and easy to enter is more likely to be tried when it sits in the main circuit rather than in a back room. Instructors can then program it in the same session as the abdominal and gluteal stations, which is how the posterior chain is trained as a whole.

Frequently asked questions

Can the machine be used at very low load?

Yes. The zero point block maintains resistance at low intensity, which is the requirement for reconditioning work and for beginners.

How many adjustments are available?

Eleven footrest levels and ten seat levels, which cover a wide range of user heights.

Is the weight block enclosed?

Yes, by a double sided ABS cover, which protects the weights and reduces noise on the floor.
