Description
The kids surfer and push expander combination is a children’s outdoor fitness unit supplied and installed throughout France by Light In Fitness. It joins the pendulum surfer plate – lateral swinging with core engagement – and the push expander – a forward press of both arms against body weight – on one frame.
Two very different demands, zero competition
Combination units work best when the two posts attract different users at different moments. Here the pairing is deliberate: the surfer is the balance station children ask for first, while the expander adds the pushing movement missing from most children’s areas. One child swings while another presses; neither exercise queues behind the other, and the shared frame needs only one foundation.
What the child works
- Obliques and transverse abdominals (surfer)
- Balance and proprioception
- Chest, deltoids and triceps (expander)
- Postural chain
Why choose this model
- The surfer is the most requested balance station among children
- The expander brings the only upper-body pushing movement of the family
- Two very different uses, so the posts never compete for the same child
- No external loads to handle – resistance is body weight only
Two compliance versions: EN 16630 or EN 1176
Offered in an EN 16630 version (free-access outdoor fitness equipment, for users of at least 1.40 m) and an EN 1176 version (playground equipment standard, with EN 1177 surfacing where free fall height requires it). The version follows your site classification and is verified before quotation.

Frequently asked questions
Which children use which post?
In practice the surfer draws children who want movement and play, while the expander suits those working through a circuit. Because the demands are so different, the same child often alternates: swing to warm up, press to work the upper body.
Is any supervision required?
The unit is designed for free-access use: body-weight resistance, secured grips and no adjustable parts. As with all public equipment, regular visual checks and an annual inspection are recommended.
How much ground does the combination need?
Less than two separate stations – that is its advantage. The exact footprint and clearance zone are drawn on the layout plan supplied with your quotation.
