Description
The kids seated and standing twister is a children’s outdoor fitness unit supplied and installed throughout France by Light In Fitness. It offers two trunk rotations on one frame: seated, with back and pelvis supported, then standing, balancing on a free rotating plate.
One movement, two levels of challenge
Trunk rotation is easy to teach when the pelvis is supported and much harder when the whole body must balance. This unit builds that progression into the hardware: the seated post secures the youngest users and children with reduced mobility, while the standing plate adds a balance demand that grows with the amplitude the child chooses. Progression happens naturally, from one post to the next, on the same station.
What the child works
- Obliques and transverse abdominals
- Lumbo-pelvic mobility
- Spinal erectors
- Proprioception and balance
Why choose this model
- The seated version secures younger children and children with reduced mobility
- The standing version adds a progressive balance constraint
- Natural progression from one post to the other on the same unit
- Two stations, one foundation
Two compliance versions: EN 16630 or EN 1176
Available in an EN 16630 version (free-access outdoor fitness equipment, for users of at least 1.40 m) and an EN 1176 version (playground equipment standard, with EN 1177 surfacing where free fall height requires it). Frequently asked questions
Why does the unit include a seated post?
The seated twister supports the back and pelvis, which makes trunk rotation accessible to younger children and to children with specific needs – inclusion is one of the stated uses of this unit. The standing post is then the next step once confidence is there.
Can both posts be used at the same time?
Yes. The two rotation posts operate independently on the shared frame, so two children – often of different ages or abilities – exercise side by side.
What makes trunk rotation worth training in childhood?
Rotation mobilises the lumbo-pelvic region and strengthens the obliques and spinal erectors – capacities that support posture and everyday movement but are rarely addressed by classic playground equipment.
