Description

The kids push expander with illustrated panel is a children’s outdoor fitness station supplied and installed throughout France by Light In Fitness. Standing upright, the child pushes two vertical press arms forward against the resistance of their own body weight – one of the few genuine upper-body pushing movements available on a children’s activity area.

A rare pushing pattern for young users

Most children’s outdoor equipment trains legs, balance or grip. The expander fills the gap: a controlled press that works the chest, front shoulders and triceps while the trunk stabilises the movement. Because resistance is capped at body weight, there is no way to overload the exercise – the child simply repeats the push at their own pace.

What the child works

  • Chest and front deltoids
  • Triceps
  • Abdominal wall
  • Postural chain

Why choose this model

  • An upper-body pushing movement, rare on children’s areas
  • Resistance limited to body weight: no overload risk
  • Several illustrated panel designs available
  • Stable standing position with no adjustment needed

Two compliance versions: EN 16630 or EN 1176

The same station exists in two regulatory versions, and the right one depends on the administrative status of the space, not on the hardware. The EN 16630 version follows the standard for permanently installed free-access outdoor fitness equipment, intended for users of at least 1.40 m. The EN 1176 version follows the playground equipment standard, which governs free spaces, entrapment risks and free fall height, and calls for EN 1177 impact-attenuating surfacing where that height requires it. A declared municipal playground takes the EN 1176 version; a free-access fitness trail takes EN 16630. If in doubt, Light In Fitness checks the classification before quoting.

Frequently asked questions

Is a body-weight press safe for children?

Yes – the press arms move against the user’s own weight only, so the load automatically scales with the child. There are no external weights, no pinch-prone weight stacks and no settings to get wrong.

Which version do I need for a school playground?

That depends on how the space is classified. If the equipment joins a declared playground, choose the EN 1176 version with the matching surfacing; a free-access fitness trail takes the EN 16630 version. Light In Fitness verifies the classification with you before the quotation.

Can I choose the panel illustration?

Yes. Several illustrated designs are available for the side panel, and the RAL colour of the structure is selected at quotation stage, so the station matches the theme of your area.
