Description
FABULON is a dome-shaped play structure built on four curved steel arches, giving 360-degree access at ground level and a suspended central platform above. Unusually for a rope-based unit, it is rated from 0 to 14 years, which makes it one of the few structures in the range that serves toddlers and older children on the same footprint.
An age range that changes the brief
The free height of fall is 1.0 m and the slide starts at 1.0 m — deliberately low. Combined with a spiral stair rather than a ladder, and a reinforced rubber matting platform rather than an open net floor, this produces a structure a supervised toddler can use while an older child still finds the oblique nets and climbing wall worth the effort. For mixed-age settings such as holiday parks, restaurants and community gardens, that removes the need for two separate items.

Construction
Black steel arches protected by hot-dip galvanising, with powder coating optional. Nets are braided and bonded polyamide, 18 mm diameter. Connectors are aluminium and stainless steel, with plastic elements; foundations are concrete pads. The slide chute is stainless steel — the arches remain galvanised steel.
Siting and surfacing
FABULON occupies 9.2 x 7.5 m, stands 2.65 m tall and requires a minimum area of 12.4 x 10.7 m, with foundations at 1.0 m depth. It is certified to EN 1176-1:2017. Impact-attenuating surfacing is a separate specification tested to EN 1177; at a 1.0 m free height of fall the range of compliant surfaces is wide, which usually keeps the surfacing budget modest.

The unit is certified from 0 to 14 years, but the youngest users need supervision as they would on any equipment. The low platform, spiral stair and 1.0 m slide start are what make the shared use practical.
What is the acoustic speaking tube for?
It links two points of the structure so children can talk between them. It is a play element with no moving parts and needs only cleaning at routine inspection.
