Description
The Etenon PL1018 is an Olympic leg press with a split platform on independent axes, allowing unilateral and bilateral work on the same machine. Load capacity is 480 kg on a reinforced steel structure in 80 by 60 by 2.5 mm section, which places it among the most robust Olympic presses available.
The independent axis architecture is what makes the machine unusual. In bilateral mode it works as a conventional Olympic press, engaging quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes and calves symmetrically for maximum strength and hypertrophy work. In unilateral mode each leg is driven separately, which lets a coach correct left and right asymmetries, build stability and proprioception, and manage return to sport after injury without buying a second machine. Switching between the two modes is a change of foot placement rather than a change of station.
The geometry is derived from biomechanical study, so the movement path stays precise, natural and controlled through the full range rather than forcing the pelvis to rotate at depth. With free weight loading up to 480 kg, the same frame serves rehabilitation loads and near maximal pressing.

Unilateral training in a professional programme
Bilateral pressing hides asymmetry. A stronger leg compensates for a weaker one and the imbalance persists until it shows up as an injury or a plateau. Testing and training each side separately is standard practice in athletic preparation and in return to sport protocols, and it usually requires either a specialist machine or free weight variations that most club members cannot execute safely. A split platform press puts that capability inside a familiar movement, which is why performance clubs and premium studios specify it. For a commercial gym the argument is different but equally practical: one machine covers the general strength requirement of the membership and the specific requirement of its athletes. Plan loading access on both sides, plate storage within reach, and a weightlifting grade rubber tile underneath. Our team supplies the implantation drawing with the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
How do users switch between unilateral and bilateral mode?
The split platform runs on independent axes, so the mode is determined by foot placement rather than by a mechanical conversion.
What are the machine dimensions and weight?
Overall dimensions, machine weight and the loading clearances are supplied with the layout study prepared for your room.
Are Olympic discs included?
No. Plates are quoted separately so the load range can be matched to your members, along with plate storage for the strength zone.
