Description
The Etenon R5512 is a plate loaded pendulum squat with an arced trajectory that follows the natural mechanics of the knee, hip and ankle. Where a conventional leg press imposes a linear path that does not suit the pelvis, the pendulum respects joint mechanics: less lumbar stress, more usable range and better recruitment of the quadriceps and gluteus maximus.
The welded chassis is 80 by 80 by 4 mm steel and accepts up to 400 kg of plates including the user, which covers every realistic club scenario including experienced athletes. The pivot runs on industrial tapered roller bearings. There is no electronics, there are no pulleys and there are no cables, and on the installed base of the Etenon R5xx series, launched in 2018, observed service life exceeds 15 years in daily intensive use.
Three characteristics explain why pendulum squats have become standard equipment on strength floors. Heavy work is possible without a spotter, so the machine is usable during quiet hours and by coaches training alone. The ascending resistance curve, where the movement becomes harder towards the top, matches the natural force profile of the leg extensors and transfers well to the free squat. And the mechanical simplicity makes it one of the most durable machines a strength zone can contain.

Who specifies a pendulum squat
CrossFit boxes install it because it delivers heavy leg work at lower technical risk than a loaded back squat, which matters when members are fatigued inside a workout. Powerlifting and strongman gyms use it as intensive accessory work for the quadriceps, with a 400 kg admissible load that removes any ceiling. Premium club strength floors specify it as an alternative to the squat rack for autonomous users training without a coach. And physical preparation rooms use it for quadriceps development in contact sports such as rugby, where high load leg work is required year round.
On the practical side, allow loading access on both sides, plate storage within reach and depth in front of the machine for the arc of travel. A weightlifting grade rubber tile underneath handles the impact of discs during loading. We supply the implantation drawing and the anchorage schedule with the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
What are the machine dimensions?
Overall dimensions, the arc envelope and the loading clearances are supplied with the layout study prepared for your room before the order.
Can it replace a squat rack?
For autonomous users training without a spotter it covers heavy leg work safely. Clubs serving competitive lifters normally keep a rack for barbell specific training.
What maintenance does it need?
Very little. With no electronics, pulleys or cables, servicing is limited to the pivot bearings and periodic checks of the fixings and upholstery.
