Description
The Essential crossfit rig is a freestanding indoor cage measuring 11.3 m long, designed to hold a full class of 20 to 25 athletes on one structure. It concentrates a high station count into a narrow 1.2 m depth, which is what allows a box to run a complete session along one wall of the room rather than dedicating a whole floor area to the rig. Pull-ups, squats, barbell work and suspended movements are all covered, on upper and lower body, individually or in groups. The list price is 8,500 EUR excluding VAT.
Light In Fitness manufactures the Essential from high grade steel and is among the few suppliers offering extended warranties across its rig range. Stability and rigidity under load are the design priorities, since a rig carrying 25 athletes at once sees loads a domestic frame never meets.

Fitting a class sized rig into a real box
The number that matters here is not the length but the depth. At 1.2 m deep, the Essential runs along a wall and leaves the centre of the room clear for the floor work, rowers and open barbell space that a class also needs. A square or island rig of equivalent capacity would consume several times that area. For an operator paying rent per square metre, this is the argument.
A 3.61 m height means the ceiling has to be checked before ordering, including any beams, lighting or ductwork over the intended run, and allowing clearance for athletes working above the top bar. The 11.3 m length also needs a continuous unobstructed wall or floor line. Both points are settled during the free layout study, which Light In Fitness carries out before the quotation.
The rig is aimed at boxes and cross training clubs, physical preparation centres, military and emergency service gyms and school sports halls, anywhere a coach needs to start a whole class on the same movement at the same time. Accessories can be added to the frame to extend the exercise catalogue as the programme develops.
Frequently asked questions
How many athletes can genuinely train at once?
Between 20 and 25 on the structure, which is the practical maximum. That figure assumes coached rotation across the stations rather than every athlete on a pull-up bar simultaneously.
Does the rig need to be bolted to the wall or the floor?
It is designed as a freestanding structure. Anchoring requirements depend on the slab and on the intended loading, and are confirmed during the layout study together with any floor preparation.
What ceiling height is required?
The rig itself is 3.61 m high, so the room needs that plus working clearance above the top bar for muscle-ups and rope work. Shipping runs 5 to 10 working days from stock and quotations are returned within 24 working hours.
