Description
The Xebex Air Bike Power is the heavy duty air bike in the range: 86 kg (190 lb) of frame, moving arms for simultaneous upper and lower body work, and dual air plus magnetic resistance over eight levels. Frame mass is not a vanity figure on an air bike. A machine that shifts under a sprint interval wastes power and unsettles the athlete, and 86 kg is what keeps this one planted through repeated maximum efforts in a CrossFit box or a busy club.

Moving arms and dual resistance
The moving arms are the defining feature. Connected directly to the flywheel, they let the athlete push and pull with the upper body while pedalling, which is what turns an exercise bike into an assault style conditioning tool: the same wattage is produced by four limbs instead of two, so heart rate climbs faster and the effort is genuinely full body.
Air resistance is self regulating, since harder pedalling moves more air and meets more drag, and there is no ceiling to it. The eight level magnetic system adds a fixed baseline underneath, so a coach can set a floor of resistance for steady state work or handicap a stronger athlete in a paired workout, rather than relying on air drag alone.
- 86 kg frame, stable under maximal sprint intervals
- Moving arms for simultaneous upper and lower body output
- Air plus magnetic resistance, 8 magnetic levels
- Belt drive, quieter and lower maintenance than chain
- LCD console for time, distance, calories and interval work
- 5 year frame warranty, 2 years on parts
Floor planning and servicing
Air bikes need lateral clearance because the arms sweep a wide arc and the fan pushes a considerable volume of air. Allow at least 1 m either side in a class layout and avoid siting a row of bikes directly facing a mirror or a wall at close range. Confirm the assembled dimensions on the quotation before drawing a class grid.
Maintenance is limited compared with motorised cardio: no motor, no belt deck, no electronics beyond the console. Check the belt tension, the pedal and arm bearings and the crank fixings periodically, and keep the fan housing clear of dust, which is the main cause of noise complaints in a busy box.
Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from the lighter Xebex AirPlus?
The Air Bike Power has moving arms for full body work and a substantially heavier frame for stability under intensive use, with a 5 year frame warranty. The AirPlus is a lighter, legs only air bike aimed at studios and lighter commercial settings, with a stronger connectivity package.
Does the magnetic resistance replace the air resistance?
No, the two work together. Air drag rises with effort and has no upper limit; the eight magnetic levels set a baseline underneath it, which is useful for steady state work and for equalising athletes in a group session.
Does the machine need mains power?
The bike itself is entirely self powered; only the console uses batteries. That means it can be placed anywhere on a training floor without a socket, including outdoors under cover for a session.
