Ziva EX half rack in 3 mm steel with plate storage

The Ziva EX half rack is built from 3 mm steel with laser cut adjustment holes, and it arrives complete with J cups, safety arms, a pull up bar, a crossbeam and six chromed storage posts. The complete kit is the practical difference: the rack works on the day it is delivered without a second purchase.

Laser cutting the adjustment holes gives dimensional accuracy of about 0.1 mm, which sounds like a specification detail and behaves like a usability feature. Tight holes mean the J cups and safety arms sit without lateral play, so a lifter racks the bar in the same place every repetition and nothing rattles under load. On racks in this price band that precision is unusual, and it also extends the life of the adjustment components.

The frame uses 3 mm high strength steel with reinforced V welds and a black powder coating chosen to resist scratching and corrosion. All hardware is zinc plated, which matters in a room cleaned frequently and full of perspiration. The two inner safety arms carry a PU plastic covering to protect the bar knurling, and the six chromed posts store plates at the rack so no separate disc tree is needed. A half rack footprint suits rooms of 20 to 80 square metres where a full cage would dominate the floor.

A half rack covers the three barbell patterns that matter most in a compact strength area: squat, bench press and pull up. Its open front makes it easier to coach than a full cage, since the trainer stands directly beside the lifter, and the reduced footprint leaves floor for benches and free weights.

Bolting to the floor is strongly recommended for commercial installation. It prevents forward tipping when a loaded bar is racked or missed, and it is what public access venues expect from fitness equipment. Base plates are supplied. What load does the rack take?

Ziva does not publish a maximum rated load for the EX half rack. The 3 mm steel construction with reinforced welds is dimensioned for commercial use, and in practice users work regularly at 200 to 300 kg on the bar.

Does it have to be bolted down?

For commercial and public access installation, yes, and the plates are included. For light private use the rack is stable free standing, but bolting remains the recommendation.
