Description
Clinging is a Work-fit outdoor fitness trail station in laminated Scandinavian pine, finished with two coats of Lasur paint and fitted with AISI 304 stainless steel hardware. It is a hanging and gripping station, so it works the upper body and the grip rather than the legs, and it complements the balance and jumping stations in the same range.
The structure is laminated Scandinavian pine treated in autoclave to class IV, which is the treatment class for permanent outdoor use in ground contact. The two coat Lasur finish is a penetrating wood finish rather than a film, so it weathers by fading instead of peeling and can be renewed without stripping. Natural resin and knots remain visible and are part of the appearance of the material.
Metal parts are AISI 304 stainless steel with quality stainless steel fixings, which gives corrosion resistance at the joints, the point where a timber trail station is most exposed. Spare parts are available for ten years.

Timber trails in natural settings
Timber equipment is specified where the visual impact matters as much as the exercise: a park with mature trees, a lakeside path, a spa or hotel grounds, a woodland circuit. Galvanised steel performs equally well technically but reads as urban equipment, and planning constraints in protected settings often push the decision towards timber.
The trade off is maintenance. Timber needs periodic inspection of the fixings and renewal of the Lasur finish over the years, where a galvanised structure needs almost nothing. In exchange the material is renewable, requires no special disposal treatment, and spare parts remain available for a decade.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Lasur finish need renewing?
It is a penetrating finish that fades rather than peels, and it is renewed as part of routine maintenance without stripping the previous coats.
Is the station suitable for intensive public use?
Yes, with the inspection frequency increased accordingly. Class IV treated laminated pine and AISI 304 stainless steel hardware are specified for permanent outdoor public installation.
What safety area is required?
The impact area is provided in accordance with EN 1176-1:2017 and is confirmed on the implantation drawing for your route.
