Description
The Work-fit Pulse is a wooden fitness trail station intended to be combined with walking or running between elements. It belongs to the Work-fit range, a system of timber outdoor stations that a local authority, campsite or residential scheme assembles into a route rather than buying as a single machine. The structure is laminated Scandinavian pine treated in autoclave to class IV and finished with two coats of Lasur, with metal parts in stainless steel AISI 304 and electro galvanised fasteners.
The design logic of a Work-fit trail is worth stating plainly. The aerobic load comes from the distance covered between stations, and each station adds a specific strength, mobility or balance task. That keeps individual equipment simple, removes the need for weight stacks or adjustment mechanisms outdoors, and means a trail can be extended in phases as budget allows.
Timber construction is chosen for the same reason across the range. There is no coating that chips into an unsightly finish, no bearing that seizes after a wet winter and nothing detachable that invites theft, so ongoing cost is limited to inspection and periodic refinishing. Laminated pine develops small natural checks with exposure; these are characteristic of the product and do not affect its structural strength or weather resistance.

Planning a phased trail
Most Work-fit projects start with three to five stations along an existing footpath and grow over two or three budget years. Because the elements are independent, adding a station later does not require reworking what is already installed, and the timber weathers to a consistent tone across phases.
Two site conditions govern the civil works. EN 1176-1:2017 sets the safety area that must be kept clear around each station, and the surfacing inside that area is chosen from the free height of fall. The exact dimensions of this station and its safety area are supplied with the layout study, together with the foundation drawing, so groundworks can be priced before the order is confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
What dimensions should be reserved for this station?
The footprint and the EN 1176-1 safety area are issued with the layout study for your site, because they depend on how the station sits within the trail.
Does the equipment need seasonal maintenance?
Annual inspection and periodic reapplication of the Lasur finish. There are no moving parts to service.
Can the trail be extended later?
Yes. Work-fit stations are independent and spare parts remain available for 10 years, so phased extension is the normal way these trails are built.
