Description
The Work-fit Climbing station is a wooden fitness trail module for outdoor circuits in parks, campsites and residential grounds. It is built entirely from laminated Scandinavian pine treated in autoclave to class IV, so it can be installed in ground contact in a natural setting without a painted steel appearance. Metal parts are stainless steel AISI 304 and the fasteners are electro galvanised, which is the combination that keeps a timber structure serviceable outdoors over many seasons.
Climbing modules are the strength anchor of a wooden fitness trail. Where the walking or running route between stations provides the aerobic load, this station supplies the upper body and grip work, and it does so without cables, weights or moving parts to maintain. That is the practical argument for timber trails in public settings: almost nothing on the equipment can be tampered with or stolen.
Laminated timber shows natural characteristics such as small surface checks. These do not affect the structural strength or the weather resistance of the section, and they are expected on an autoclave treated laminated product rather than a defect. Spare parts remain available for 10 years from purchase, which matters when a local authority has to budget maintenance over a full asset life.

Building a Work-fit trail
The Work-fit range is designed to be assembled into a route rather than bought as a single item. A typical municipal trail alternates a climbing or pull station like this one with a balance element, an abdominal bench and a cardio station, spaced along an existing footpath so that walkers and runners meet the equipment naturally.
Two site conditions govern the specification. The safety area around the station must comply with EN 1176-1:2017, and the ground surfacing within that area has to be selected accordingly, which in practice means grass, wood chips or an impact attenuating surface depending on the free height of fall. Exact station dimensions and the safety area for this module are issued with the layout study, so the plot and the groundworks can be priced before the order is placed.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the timber treated to class IV?
Class IV autoclave treatment covers timber in permanent contact with ground or fresh water. It is the correct specification for posts set into foundations outdoors.
What are the dimensions and the safety area?
These are supplied with the layout study for your site, together with the foundation drawing, because the safety area depends on how the station sits within the wider trail.
How long are spare parts available?
Ten years. Timber sections, stainless fittings and fasteners can be replaced individually rather than replacing the whole station.
