Description
The TRAINER SW01C is a vertical climbing ladder for street workout areas, standing 300 cm high on a 140 x 115.1 cm base and weighing 100 kg. It requires a safety zone of 515 x 540 cm. Certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,578 EUR excluding VAT.
Three metres of vertical, and what that does to a site
At 300 cm the vertical ladder is the tallest element in the street workout range, and it changes the character of an installation. It is visible from a distance, it draws people towards the area, and it offers a form of training, climbing, that nothing else in the range provides. Users pull themselves upward hand over hand while the legs drive or hang, which loads the arms, back, chest, abdominals and grip simultaneously and raises heart rate faster than any static hanging exercise.
- Climbing and suspension exercises on a vertical structure
- Works the arms, legs, waist, abdominals, back and pectorals
- Improves limb mobility and cardiorespiratory condition
- Difficulty rated medium, minimum user height 140 cm
Modular by design
The SW01C connects to the rest of the TRAINER street workout system, so it can anchor one end of a rig alongside pull-up bars, parallel bars and traverse elements. That is generally how it should be specified: a vertical ladder in isolation is a climbing frame, whereas the same ladder at the end of a rig becomes the finish of a circuit. Councils working across multiple budget years can install the rig in phases without replacing what is already in the ground.
Construction
Tubular high-grade steel, shot-blasted and hot-dip galvanised, then finished with a double layer of polyester powder coating for resistance to weather and UV. The structure is ground-anchored, which at three metres and 100 kg is not optional. Standard colours are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006), with other RAL references quoted on request.

Frequently asked questions
What surfacing does a three-metre structure require?
An impact-attenuating surface across the whole 515 x 540 cm zone, specified for the free height of fall determined at design stage. This is the item most often underestimated on a street workout budget: at this height the surfacing can approach the cost of the equipment. We price the two together so there is no surprise.
Will children climb it?
They will. The unit is certified under EN 16630 as open-access outdoor fitness equipment for users from 140 cm, and the instruction panel should state that. Where a site expects heavy unsupervised use by younger children, the layout should place the ladder away from the play area and the surfacing specification should reflect the real fall height.
Can it be combined with other manufacturers’ modules?
Not in a certified assembly. The EN 16630 test applies to the structure as installed, so mixing systems invalidates the certification. Within the TRAINER range the connection points are standard and the rig can be extended freely.
