Street Workout Cage Z4 calisthenics structure

The Street Workout Cage Z4 is a complete calisthenics structure occupying 8.96 by 9.12 metres, 3.1 metres high, with a free fall height of 2.6 metres. It groups pull-up bars, ladders, push-up bars, climbing pipes, a bench and jump boxes into one frame, so a full street workout area is delivered as a single reference rather than assembled from separate items. The price is 24,500 EUR excluding VAT.

The design brief is breadth. A single Z4 covers bodyweight strength work, gymnastic bar work, climbing and plyometric jumping, which is why it is specified for municipal street workout parks and calisthenics areas where one structure has to serve every kind of user who turns up.

Material selection follows the exposure. Load bearing posts are 100 x 100 mm powder coated steel, while every surface a user grips is stainless steel, which removes the repainting cycle from the parts that wear first.

Ground works and safety zone

The safety zone of 12.46 by 12.12 metres is the number that governs the site plan, not the 8.96 by 9.12 metre structure. That leaves roughly 1.75 metres of clear ground on each side, which has to stay free of benches, bins, planting and boundary fencing.

With a free fall height of 2.6 metres, the surfacing under and around the cage must be impact attenuating and certified for a critical fall height of at least 2.6 metres under EN 1177. In practice this rules out thin tiles: rubber gym flooring tiles for outdoor use in the 40 to 65 mm range, wet pour EPDM at the appropriate depth or synthetic turf on a rated shock pad are the workable options, and the certificate for the chosen system should be filed with the installation record.

Posts are anchored on base plates set into concrete foundations, or bolted to an existing concrete slab where one is available and sound. Delivery access needs to accommodate a structure of this footprint arriving in sections. Once open, maintenance is limited to periodic visual checks of fixings, bar connections and the plywood faces of the jump boxes, which are the components exposed to weather and impact.

The cage carries six ladders, double push-up bars, pull-up bars, climbing pipes, a bench and four jump boxes across a nine metre square footprint, so it is built for group sessions and free access parks rather than single station use.

Why stainless steel on the bars only?

Grip surfaces take hand contact, sweat and constant abrasion, which is where a painted finish fails first. Stainless bars remove that failure mode while the powder coated 100 x 100 mm posts carry the structural load.

Is it suitable for a coastal site?

For sites exposed to salt air we also supply structures built entirely in stainless steel 316L. Tell us the location and we will indicate which specification is appropriate.
