Description
The Snail spring rocker is the model we specify most often for the youngest users, where the priority is a calm, predictable movement rather than speed. The coiled shell profile is cut from weather-resistant HDPE panel, mounted on a single central spring and fitted with ergonomic plastic handles.
Design and play value
A first ride on a spring rocker is a small act of independence, and it goes better when the equipment does not surprise the child. The compact shell shape keeps the body of the item close around the rider, the handles fall naturally to hand, and the low seat means a two-year-old can mount and dismount without help from an adult.
- Central spring giving a gentle, self-limiting rocking motion
- Ergonomic injection-moulded plastic handles
- Weather-resistant HDPE panel body
- Ground anchor supplied for a cast foundation

Installation and siting
The unit takes a 0.6 m foundation with the supplied anchor and a clear safety area of 4.0 x 3.5 m. It is a standard choice for nursery gardens, creche outdoor areas and the toddler section of a municipal playground, usually placed within sight of the seating rather than at the perimeter.
Maintenance
The HDPE body needs no repainting and washes clean. Inspection covers the spring, the fixings, the handles and the surfacing under the routine, operational and annual regime set out in EN 1176.
Frequently asked questions
Is it suitable for a nursery with children under two?
With adult supervision, yes: the seat is low and the handles are sized for small hands. For a nursery serving mainly under-twos we would place it on a continuous impact attenuating surface rather than on loose fill.
Can the handles be replaced?
Yes, the injection-moulded handles are a stocked spare part and are changed with hand tools without lifting the unit.
How does it compare with the frog and apple models?
The dimensions and the safety area are identical; the difference is the character and the profile of the body. Sites that want a calm, enclosing shape choose the snail, and those that want a bolder figure choose the frog.
