Description
The BMX spring rocker is the longest model in the range at 97 cm, and the one aimed at children who already know what a bike is meant to do. The body is cut from weather-resistant HDPE panel and mounted on a single central spring, with a ground anchor supplied for the foundation.
Design and play value
The extended body changes the ride: the rider sits further forward of the spring, so leaning produces a longer, more pronounced rocking arc than the compact animal models. Children who have outgrown the gentler figures but are still too young for a climbing structure get a genuine step up in challenge, and the bike theme sits naturally beside skate parks, pump tracks and youth areas.
- Central spring producing a longer rocking arc than the compact models
- Weather-resistant HDPE panel body
- Steel components hot-dip galvanised and powder coated

Installation and siting
The foundation depth is 0.6 m and the safety area is 4.0 x 3.5 m, unchanged from the shorter models despite the longer body. That makes the BMX a straight substitution on a layout already drawn for a standard rocker, which is useful when a scheme is redesigned late.
Maintenance
Because the arc is longer, the spring and its fixings see more work than on the compact models, so bolt tightness is the check to prioritise at the operational inspection. The rest of the regime follows the routine, operational and annual inspections set out in EN 1176.
Frequently asked questions
Is the BMX harder to ride than the animal models?
Slightly. The longer body gives a bigger movement for the same effort, which is why we normally place it at the older end of a toddler area rather than beside items intended for two-year-olds.
Does it need more space than the other rockers?
No. The safety area is the same 4.0 x 3.5 m, even though the body is 17 cm longer.
Can it be installed next to a skate park?
Yes, provided the safety area is kept clear of skating lines and the surfacing under the rocker is appropriate to the fall height. We check both on the site plan before confirming the position.
Send us the layout and we will mark the workable positions on a drawing. Request a quotation or browse the spring riders range.
