Description
The Dione rope spider answers a common brief: give children real climbing height without consuming the whole playground. Its enveloping net rises to 3.0 metres around a central galvanised steel mast, yet the structure occupies only a 3.1-metre square – the tightest height-to-footprint ratio in our rope pyramid range.
Vertical play where space is scarce
Anchored by four main cables with adjustable tensioners, the net wraps the mast in a steep, enveloping web that encourages genuinely vertical climbing. The 0.8 m free fall height – lower than taller structures suggest – comes from the net design itself, which keeps climbers close to the mesh at all times.
- Central mast in hot-dip galvanised steel, 114.3 mm diameter
- Four main cables anchored with adjustable hot-dip galvanised tensioners
- Braided rope net with multiple climbing holds
- Recommended age range: 3 to 14 years
- Free fall height: 0.8 m – minimum safety zone 6.2 x 6.2 m
- Reinforced concrete anchor footings
Certified, corrosion-protected construction
Mast and tensioners are hot-dip galvanised steel. The 16 mm rope is polypropylene (PP split film) reinforced with galvanised steel strands, joined by plastic and aluminium connectors. The structure is certified compliant with EN 1176-1 by an independent certification body for collective use on public playgrounds.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose the Dione over the wider Neso?
Choose the Dione when floor space is the constraint: it delivers more height (3.0 m vs 2.75 m) on a smaller footprint and safety zone (6.2 x 6.2 m vs 6.7 x 6.7 m).
Is a 3-metre net suitable for three-year-olds?
Yes – the recommended range is 3 to 14 years. Young children naturally stay on the lower rings of the net, while the summit remains a goal for older climbers.
What groundworks are involved?
The mast and the four cable anchors are set in reinforced concrete footings; installation details are provided with every project quotation.
