The Bodytone Solid Rock X SRX81 is a full four post power rack, the most complete rack in the SRX line and the reference station for free weight squatting and pressing in a professional gym. Four uprights rather than two means the athlete is enclosed on all sides, with adjustable safety bars catching a failed lift from any direction. That is the difference between a rack a club can let members use unsupervised and one it cannot.

The station covers back squat, front squat, bench press, overhead press, rack pulls and pull-ups from the top bar, all with an olympic bar and plates. In practice it becomes the busiest single item in a free weight area, because it is the only piece of equipment on which the heaviest lifts in a programme can be performed safely.

Construction follows the Solid Rock X specification, a robust steel structure designed for intensive professional use. Alongside the SRX80 half rack, the SRX81 completes the range: the half rack for rooms where floor area or ceiling height is constrained, the full rack where safety and the heaviest loading come first.

Installing a power rack

Three points decide whether a rack installation works. Ceiling height comes first: a tall athlete performing an overhead press or a pull-up inside the rack needs clear height well above the top bar, and this is the constraint that most often forces a half rack instead. Second, the floor: heavy squatting and dropped bars concentrate load and impact, so a rubber platform or heavy duty flooring under and around the rack is part of the specification rather than an accessory. Third, plate logistics: storage horns or a plate tree within reach keep discs off the floor, which is the main hazard in a free weight zone. What does a full rack give over a half rack?

Enclosure on four sides with safety bars that catch a failed lift regardless of direction, which is why full racks are specified where members train heavy without a spotter.

Are the bar and plates included?

No. The rack is used with an olympic bar and plates, which are quoted separately so the specification matches your existing equipment. We can add them to the quotation.

What flooring is required?
