Description
The Bodytone Solid Grow SG17 is a plate-loaded, chest-supported T-bar row with a recommended maximum load of 58 kg on 50 mm Olympic plates. Part of the Solid Grow range, it brings a focused horizontal pulling station to small and mid-sized gyms, independent coaching studios and premium home gyms.
Why a chest-supported T-bar row
Unlike a classic landmine or free-standing T-bar row, the SG17 places the torso on a chest pad throughout the movement. This support removes most of the load from the lumbar spine, prevents momentum from the hips and lets the athlete concentrate entirely on contracting the mid and lower back. The result is a more intense, better-isolated rowing stimulus with a lower injury risk, which also makes the exercise easier to coach with beginners.
Muscles worked
- Mid and lower back (latissimus dorsi, lower trapezius fibres)
- Trapezius and rhomboids across the upper back
- Rear deltoids and elbow flexors as supporting muscles
The Solid Grow range
Solid Grow is the accessible plate-loaded line from Bodytone, the Spanish manufacturer of professional strength equipment distributed in France by Light In Fitness. The range is designed for facilities that want reliable, compact free-weight machines without the price of a full commercial line: boutique gyms, cross-training boxes, physiotherapy studios and serious home gym owners. A practical rule of thumb is to plan a 50 kg set of plates per machine.

Frequently asked questions
Are the weight plates included?
No. The SG17 is delivered without plates and accepts standard 50 mm Olympic plates. For a typical installation we recommend budgeting around 50 kg of plates for this machine; bumper or cast-iron plates can be added to your quotation.
Who is this machine designed for?
It suits small and mid-sized gyms, independent coaches and advanced home gym users who want a dedicated horizontal pulling station. The chest support makes it usable by members of all levels without close supervision.
How does it compare with a free T-bar row?
The fixed chest pad protects the lower back and standardises the movement path, so athletes can push closer to muscular failure on the back muscles without technique breaking down. It is a safer default for open gym floors.
