Description
The Solid Grow SG23 is a standing chest fly loaded with 50 mm Olympic discs, with a recommended maximum load of 70 kg. Price: 1,428 EUR excluding VAT.
Isolation without sitting down
Most chest fly machines seat the user, which removes the trunk from the exercise. The SG23 keeps the user standing, so the abdominal wall and the whole core have to stabilise the body against the arc of the movement while the pectorals do the work.
The result is an isolation exercise that still trains something beyond the target muscle. For a small studio, where every station has to justify its area, a movement that covers chest isolation and core stabilisation at the same time is a better use of the floor than a seated equivalent.
A complement to the bench press, not a substitute
Pressing movements build the chest through the shoulder and elbow together, which means the triceps often reach failure before the pectorals do. A fly removes the elbow from the equation: the arc keeps tension on the pectoralis major through its full range and gives the maximum contraction feel at the end of the movement.
- Recommended maximum load: 70 kg
- Disc compatibility: 50 mm Olympic, discs not supplied
- Primary target: pectoralis major, isolated
- Secondary: abdominal wall in stabilisation
- Suggested accessory: a 50 kg disc set per machine
Where the Solid Grow range fits
Solid Grow is the Bodytone entry to mid range, built for small and medium gyms, independent coaches and premium home gyms. Free weight loading keeps both the purchase price and the servicing down: no cables, no pulleys, no selector pins, so maintenance is limited to checking fasteners and upholstery.

Frequently asked questions
Standing or seated fly, which should be specified?
Seated when the priority is strict isolation for members who cannot stabilise a standing position, typically in a rehabilitation setting. Standing when the room is small and the station has to earn its place, because it adds core work at no extra floor cost.
Is 70 kg enough?
Yes for a fly. Isolation movements are performed with far lower loads than presses, and the arc of the fly means the effective resistance felt at the chest is high relative to the plate mass. 70 kg covers beginners through to experienced members.
What should it be bought alongside?
A pressing station. The fly is the complement to a bench or chest press, not a replacement for it, and the two together cover the chest properly in a room that has space for only two positions.
Tell us the room you have and the movements you want to cover and we will return a written quotation with the machine, its disc set and delivery in France. See the full Bodytone Solid Grow range.
