Buying sports equipment as a business is a different exercise from buying it as an individual. The specification has to survive continuous unsupervised use, the paperwork has to satisfy an insurer, and the supplier has to still exist when a cable snaps in year four. Light In Fitness has been supplying professional sports equipment since 2013 from its base in Tours, France, to gyms, cross-training boxes, hotels, campsites, local authorities, schools, clubs, rehabilitation centres and armed forces units across Europe.
What a professional supplier has to get right
Three things separate a professional supplier from a distributor who happens to sell fitness equipment.
- Certification that matches the use. Indoor training equipment is covered by EN ISO 20957-1, and commercial installations need class S. Permanently installed outdoor adult fitness equipment falls under EN 16630. Children play equipment is separate again, with EN 1176-1 for the apparatus and EN 1177 for the impact-attenuating surface. A supplier who cannot tell you which standard applies to which line is not a professional supplier.
- A parts pipeline. Commercial equipment is a ten to fifteen year asset. Cables, pads, bearings and electronics are consumables. Ask about the parts catalogue before you ask about the discount.
- Project capability. Most B2B projects are not a machine, they are a room: layout, flooring, circulation, power, delivery access and installation. A supplier who only quotes the boxes leaves the hardest part with you.
The ranges we supply
The catalogue is built around the way professional sites are actually equipped, rather than around sport categories.
| Area | Typical buyers | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Strength training | Commercial gyms, clubs, corporate facilities | Selectorised stations, plate-loaded machines, racks, benches, free weights |
| Cardio | Gyms, hotels, rehabilitation centres | Treadmills, upright and recumbent bikes, indoor cycling, rowers, cross trainers, ski ergometers |
| Functional and cross training | Boxes, military units, clubs | Rigs, cages, storage, accessories, competition flooring |
| Outdoor | Councils, campsites, schools, housing providers | Fitness trails, calisthenics and street workout structures, ninja and obstacle rigs |
| Flooring and surfaces | Every project | Rubber tiles and rolls, acoustic underlays, artificial turf tracks, court surfacing |
You can browse the main families directly: strength training machines, cardio equipment, outdoor gym equipment and rubber gym flooring.
How a project runs
A typical fit-out follows the same sequence whatever the size of the site. We start from your floor plan and your expected attendance at peak hour, not from a wish list. That produces a station count and a circulation plan. Flooring is specified alongside the equipment, because the load zones dictate the grade. Delivery access, lift dimensions and door widths are checked before the order, not on the day the lorry arrives. Installation and handover close the file, together with the manuals and the declarations of conformity.
Custom configurations are part of the normal offer rather than an exception. Rigs, outdoor structures and storage are routinely adapted to an awkward footprint, a ceiling height or a colour scheme.
Sectors we work with
Commercial gyms and studios want throughput at peak hour and equipment that survives it. Hotels and campsites want a compact, low-maintenance room that photographs well and needs no staff. Local authorities and schools want documented compliance, accessibility and a fifteen-year horizon. Rehabilitation centres and care homes want low starting loads, wide adjustment ranges and stable access. Military and emergency-service units want functional equipment that tolerates heavy loading and outdoor placement. The same catalogue serves all of them, but the selection is different every time, which is why the conversation starts with the brief.
Frequently asked questions
Do you supply individuals?
Our range is specified for professional and public installations under continuous, often unsupervised use. That is what the class S and EN 16630 declarations cover, and it is where our support and parts service is built to operate.
Can you equip a complete facility?
Yes. Strength, cardio, functional, flooring, storage and outdoor areas can be quoted as a single project, with one layout, one delivery plan and one installation.
Do you provide the compliance documentation?
Every order is delivered with the manuals and the declarations for the references supplied. For outdoor installations we also provide the layout with the free zones and the information needed for the inspection record.
What about spare parts?
Wear parts are held for the ranges we supply. When you specify equipment for a ten-year life, the parts pipeline is part of the specification.
How do I get a price?
Send the floor plan, the intended use and the profile of your users. You will get a costed proposal built on a layout, not a line-by-line list of catalogue prices.
Tell us about your project
More than five hundred sites have been equipped since 2013, from single-room club gyms to municipal outdoor parks. Whatever the scale, the starting point is the same: the space, the users and the budget. Request a quote and our team will come back with a layout and a proposal.
