Closure and stacking

The lid is held open at 95 degrees by a retaining cable, so it does not swing back onto hands while the trunk is being loaded. Closure is by a drilled rod with a 6.5 mm diameter hole that takes a padlock, which puts the kit under lock and key at the venue as well as at the club. Reinforcing ribs welded to the lid and to the base let several trunks stack squarely in the store room instead of leaning on each other.

Carrying and daily use

Two handles on non-removable mounting plates make two-person carrying straightforward, which matters once the trunk is loaded to its 30 kg payload. The grey RAL 7021 finish keeps its appearance through repeated loading into vans and trailers, and the pressed steel shell tolerates the knocks that come with moving kit between venues.
