Description
KLIO XL is the wide-span twisted rope bridge: two main ropes held apart by a steel spacer, joined by ten vertical linking ropes across 4.24 m, with a module width of 1.5 m.
More links, more travel
Ten vertical links over a longer span mean the rotation develops progressively rather than all at once. A child feels the section turn early in the crossing, corrects, and then meets a second turn near the middle where the ropes have the most freedom. This staged difficulty is what keeps older children on the module after they have solved the shorter version.
- Three horizontal ropes, two of them main ropes
- Galvanised steel spacer separating the main ropes
- Ten vertical linking ropes
- Aluminium, stainless steel and plastic connectors

Allow for the width
At 1.5 m wide with a 6.5 x 9.6 m safety area, KLIO XL is one of the more demanding modules to fit into an existing park. The width comes from the lateral movement of the twisted section, and it cannot be reduced by orientation. Check it against boundaries and paths before the layout is fixed.
Installation and surfacing
Two posts on 1.0 m reinforced concrete footings with heavy plant access, and impact attenuating surfacing to EN 1176-1 across the full safety area, sized against the 2.85 m free height of fall.
Planning the trail sequence
A rope trail reads best when difficulty rises along the route. The wide-span twisted bridge belongs in the second half of that sequence, after the contained walkways and before the free-hanging crossings. Ordering the modules this way also spreads users along the trail instead of concentrating them at the entrance.
Frequently asked questions
Can the safety area be shared with the adjacent module?
Overlapping safety areas are only acceptable where the standard and the specific equipment allow it. We resolve this on the implantation drawing rather than on site.
Is the wider version more suitable for teenagers?
It holds their interest longer. The certified range remains 5 to 14 years for both versions.
Are the vertical links replaceable?
Yes, individually, through their connectors, without dismantling the main ropes or the spacer.
Send us the plot dimensions including width and we will confirm the fit. Request a quotation or see the other rope play modules.
