Description
A 7 mm interlocking tile in black with a fine yellow fleck, laid loose on four-sided puzzle joints and no glue. The fleck is as practical as it is decorative: breaking up a plain black surface hides dust, marks and everyday wear far better than a solid black tile. It is the finish to choose for busy areas where cleaning cannot be continuous.
A finishing floor, laid without works
At 7 mm the tile gives a clean, continuous floor surface: the puzzle joint runs on all four sides, so tiles lock into each other and no adhesive touches the substrate. The floor can be lifted and relaid, which is what makes it workable in leased premises or in a layout that will change. Where it is used
Group exercise studios and wellness areas – a visible finish. At 7 mm the tile delivers a clean, even floor in rooms where appearance counts: yoga and Pilates studios, group exercise rooms, stretching and mobility areas. The four-sided puzzle joint gives a continuous surface with no pronounced seam.
Hotel and residence fitness rooms – an alternative to plain black rubber. The flecked and decorative finishes in the range let you equip a fitness area without the plain black rubber look that marks out a training room. That is the typical case for a hotel or residence fitness space, where the floor has to sit alongside the decoration of the common areas.
Reception areas, circulation and light cardio zones. The low build height limits the step at doorways and makes the junction with neighbouring floor coverings easier. It suits circulation areas, reception spaces and light cardio zones; it is not intended for heavy load zones.
Personal training studios and leased premises – installation without works. Loose interlocking installation uses no adhesive and can be dismantled, which is the answer when a lease requires the floor to be returned to its original state, or when the fit-out is temporary.

Before you order
7 mm is not an impact-absorbing thickness. This tile is a finishing floor, not a protection floor against dropped loads. For weightlifting, barbell drops or rack zones you need a 20 to 40 mm rubber tile. The two combine well in the same facility, zone by zone: see the rubber flooring range for the thicker formats.
Decorative finishes can vary slightly between production batches. Order the complete surface in one go, cutting reserve included, rather than topping up later.
Allow for cutting reserve and edges. A puzzle installation generates offcuts around the perimeter. Add a margin to the theoretical surface and plan how the edges are treated, where the interlocking teeth remain visible against the walls.
Density, material, fire classification and indentation resistance are not published. These figures are requested in premises open to the public and determine compatibility with heavy cardio equipment. Ask us for the complete technical sheet before signing off your project.
Frequently asked questions
Does installation need adhesive?
No. Tiles interlock on all four sides and rest freely on the substrate. Perimeter fixing can be useful over large areas or in heavy traffic zones, but it is not systematic.
Can the tiles be cut?
Yes, with a blade at the edges and around obstacles. Allow a material reserve: cutting consumes part of the ordered surface.
Does the fleck hide marks as well as it looks?
That is its practical purpose. The yellow inclusions break up the uniformity of a black surface, so dust, shoe marks and everyday wear read far less than on plain black. It does not replace cleaning, but it changes how the floor looks between two cleans.
Does the substrate need preparation?
The substrate must be clean, dry and flat. At 7 mm an irregularity in the floor is still felt underfoot and can create play in the joints. A levelling screed may be necessary on an old substrate.
Can cardio machines be installed on it?
At 7 mm, concentrated point loads mark the surface. For a treadmill or a rower, plan load spreading plates under the feet, or set aside a zone in thick rubber tile. Contact us for the indentation resistance figure.
