Description
The Giant Spider playground turns a childhood fascination into a full-scale play landscape: an inclined dome shaped like a spider, 20.5 m long and 16.7 m wide, with tubular slides for legs, rope pyramids for fangs and blue rubber plates for eyes. It is themed equipment at its most ambitious — a structure children recognise from across the park and talk about afterwards.
Anatomy of the spider
- An irregular spatial net suspended inside the inclined dome, tensioned by hot-dip galvanised turnbuckles anchored in the ground
- Blue rubber plates on the front wall of the web imitating spider eyes, flanked by two pyramid-shaped rope nets forming the fangs
- Steel platforms on each side with tubular slides imitating the side legs, connected to the main net by horizontal flat grids
- A-frame front legs housing suspended seats in dense rope
- An arched rear abdomen fitted with rope nets on both sides, tensioned to ground anchors
Materials for intensive public use
The black steel structure is protected by hot-dip galvanising and powder coating. Slide entrances and the horizontal net entry are enclosed by acid-resistant steel barriers, rope elements are braided, bonded polyamide, and the whole structure stands on reinforced concrete foundations at 1.0 m depth.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose a themed structure over a standard climbing frame?
A recognisable figure like the Giant Spider becomes a destination in its own right: it draws families to the site and encourages imaginative play alongside climbing and sliding.
How is safety handled around the slides?
Slide entrances and the horizontal net entry are protected by acid-resistant steel barriers, and the fall heights are managed in the siting study together with the surfacing.
What lead time should I expect?
A structure of this scale is produced to order; the quotation states the production and installation schedule for your project.
