Description

In brief — Ellipse Max 03 Fit Curved Non-Motorised Treadmill, Self-Powered with 10 Inch LED Console: brand Ellipse, distributed by Light In Fitness, price 3,250.00 € excl. VAT.

The Ellipse Max 03 Fit is a curved self-powered treadmill that runs with no motor and no mains connection, so it can be installed anywhere in a facility. The belt is driven by the runner rather than by a motor, which removes the component that fails most often on a commercial treadmill and removes the electricity bill that goes with a cardio line.

The curved deck geometry is what makes the machine work. Because the runner is always slightly ahead of the belt’s neutral point, the stride lands under the body rather than in front of it, and the ergonomic curve significantly reduces the knee loading associated with flat motorised decks. The effort required to move the belt also makes each session harder at the same pace, which is why curved treadmills are used for conditioning and interval work rather than steady jogging.

Corrosion is handled by construction rather than by coating: the sides are insulated in PVC, so very little metal surface is exposed to perspiration, which is the usual cause of deterioration on a heavily used treadmill. The rollers are specified to reduce the noise typical of this type of machine. The 10 inch LED console runs on four AA batteries and displays speed to 99.9 km/h, elapsed or countdown time, distance, calories, RPM, power output to 1,999 watts and heart rate from 30 to 230 beats per minute, with an interval mode.

Where a self-powered treadmill fits in a cardio zone

The absence of a power requirement changes the layout entirely. The machine can sit in an alcove, on a mezzanine, in a covered outdoor area or anywhere a socket does not reach, which is often the only way to add running capacity to a room that is already full. It also removes the electrical work from a refit, which is a material saving when a whole cardio line is being installed. Operating cost follows the same logic: no motor to replace, no electricity consumed, and a corrosion resistant construction that keeps maintenance to cleaning and belt checks. Plan the same run-off clearance behind the machine as for a motorised treadmill, and remember that curved treadmills are used at higher intensity, so allow space for a coach to stand alongside. We size the cardio mix from your floor plan free of charge before quoting.

Frequently asked questions

Is a curved treadmill harder to run on?

Yes, and deliberately so. The runner has to drive the belt, which raises the effort at any given pace. That makes it well suited to interval and conditioning work and less suited to long steady sessions.

Does the console need mains power?

No. It runs on four AA batteries, so the machine is entirely independent of the electrical installation.

What maintenance does it need?

Cleaning, belt condition checks and battery replacement. There is no motor, no drive electronics and no lubrication cycle, which is the main reason operators choose this format.
