The Dojo Tatami mat 25 mm in black/grey is a modular EVA-foam martial-arts tile: 100 x 100 cm, 120 kg/m3 density, reversible two-sided, with straight finishing edges included, at 17 EUR excluding VAT per square-metre tile. It is the club standard for judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, aikido, karate, MMA grappling and any fitness zone needing an impact-absorbing, barefoot-friendly floor.

Built for throws, falls and floor work

EVA foam at 120 kg/m3 gives the combination combat sports need: enough absorption for repeated body throws and breakfalls, and enough firmness for stable footing during technical movement. The vinyl skin carries a rice-straw texture on the main face — the traditional tatami grip for bare feet and gi work, gentle on hands and knees during prolonged floor contact.

Which disciplines does 25 mm cover?

The 25 mm thickness at 120 kg/m3 is the market standard for club dojos: judo, jiu-jitsu, aikido, karate, taekwondo, self-defence, plus MMA and wrestling at training intensity. It also suits yoga, Pilates and children’s motor-skills areas. For heavyweight competition judo or repeated high-amplitude throws, the 40 mm versions of the range add extra absorption margin; for stand-up striking zones, a firmer rubber floor can complement the tatami area.

What EVA tatami is not for

EVA foam deforms progressively under permanent static loads: do not place racks or machines on it. Mixed facilities combine tatami in the contact zones with dense rubber tiles under equipment. Outdoor use is possible only temporarily — the vinyl surface is not UV-treated. Cleaning must avoid aggressive chemicals (concentrated chlorine, solvents), which degrade the vinyl and its grip.

Does the puzzle system need adhesive?

No. Tiles interlock by hand on any firm, level, clean and dry base, and the included straight edges close the perimeter. Beyond about 50 m2 or in high-traffic areas, a fixed perimeter frame can improve overall stability.
