Bodytone BLAST-S Professional SkiErg — Air Resistance, No Electricity | CrossFit, Hyrox

The Bodytone BLAST-S is a professional cross-country ski simulator with air resistance and no motor or power supply. It takes 120 × 60 cm of floor space, stands 220 cm high and weighs 36 kg: the most compact upper-body cardio station for a CrossFit box, a Hyrox training space or a functional fitness floor.

What the BLAST-S is for

The pulling movement works the back, arms and core with no impact on the joints. Air resistance has no levels: the harder and faster the user pulls, the more the machine resists, from beginner to advanced athlete on the same unit. The monitor shows speed, time, distance, calories, watts and heart rate (wireless sensor), with 12 training modes, 4 custom programmes and a heart-rate recovery function.

Uses and limits

• CrossFit boxes and Hyrox preparation: the SkiErg is one of the Hyrox stations; the BLAST-S lets you train that format in the gym (the competition machine may differ).
• Gyms and functional areas: a natural complement to treadmill, bike and rower, with no electrical connection.
• Hotels, companies, public facilities: zero energy consumption, transport wheels and a small footprint.
• Limit: 220 cm high — check ceiling height, especially under a mezzanine or in a basement. Maximum user weight: 150 kg.

Maintenance

Dust the fan and air grille, periodically check the pull-strap tension and fixings, clean the handles with a neutral detergent. No electrical parts. The pull strap and handles are wear parts (6-month cover, see Bodytone conditions); checks and their frequency follow the manual supplied with the machine.

Choosing the right model

For a high-intensity upper-body cardio station on a controlled budget, the BLAST-S is the simplest choice. For no-impact full-body training, pair it with the BLAST-R rower from the same range; for running, with the ZRO-BLAST motorless treadmill.
