Description
The Bodytone BLAST-S is a professional air-resistance ski ergometer with 20 selectable resistance levels from 5 to 100 kg in 5 kg steps. It measures 139 x 105 x 250 cm, weighs 110 kg and takes users up to 180 kg. Light In Fitness supplies it at 1,653.50 EUR excluding VAT.
Upper-body cardio that the rest of the floor does not cover
A treadmill, a bike and a rower between them still leave the upper body under-trained in a conditioning circuit. The ski ergometer is the machine that fills that gap: the double-pole pulling action loads the lats, the posterior shoulder, the triceps and above all the trunk, with the legs contributing rhythm rather than power. Joint impact is close to zero, which makes it usable by populations who cannot run.
- Air resistance, responding instantly to pulling intensity
- 20 resistance levels, 5 to 100 kg in 5 kg increments
- Works back, core and arms in a single low-impact pattern
- Maximum user weight 180 kg
Air resistance and a settable damper
Air resistance is self-regulating: pull harder and the fan meets you with more resistance, ease off and it drops away. That is what makes one machine work for a first-time member and for a competitive athlete in the same class. Adding 20 mechanical levels on top gives a repeatable reference point, so a coach can prescribe a setting and know each athlete is working against the same baseline, which matters for interval programming and for Hyrox-specific preparation.
Built for group class duty
The frame is welded 100 x 50 mm steel tube, and the machine weighs 110 kg, so it stays planted under a hard set without walking across the floor. Pivots use NSK bearings. The footplates are removable on quick pins, which speeds up cleaning and lets the unit be reconfigured or stored between sessions, and the PVC base is non-slip with an adjustable leveller for uneven floors.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the BLAST-S for?
CrossFit boxes, Hyrox preparation gyms, functional training studios and physical preparation centres. It is also specified by clubs that run circuit classes and need a cardio station that does not require a member to be able to run.
How many units should a class-based box order?
The usual ratio in circuit programming is one ski ergometer per four to six participants, so a class of twenty runs comfortably on four units. We quote multiples with a floor layout that accounts for the 105 cm width plus circulation between machines.
What maintenance does an air machine need?
Very little. The fan housing should be vacuumed periodically because dust accumulation is what eventually changes the resistance feel, the pull cord should be inspected for fraying, and the bearings are sealed. There is no fluid, no belt tension and no calibration schedule.
